If Ran Carthon found a serviceable swing tackle in the 6th round in addition to Skoronski, Levis & Spears we should all be very, very excited about the upcoming draft/Ran’s tenure here.

Besides that, it is in fact good that we beat the worst team in the league at home. People yelling for a higher draft pick just don’t get it. The difference between the 4th pick and 7th is pretty marginal imo, and a bad L like losing to the panthers at home can infect an entire franchise. On to Indy next week, just hope everyone stays healthy.

I agree. Losing to the Panthers at home this year would be the sign of a failing franchise. I’d MUCH rather pick at 10+ with the current pieces showing promise/progression then have a top 3/5 pick and all the current pieces looking awful.

We should all be praying that Duncan develops as the season goes on. If anything we get a franchise RT out of it.

My comparison so far for Levis is Jay Cutler just without the game breaking picks (knock on wood that never comes). Big arm, strong pocket presence, calm and cool. Not afraid to take any shot, But will overthrow an open guy then wow you with a perfect throw while getting hit. He needs to clean up some things but these reps are super valuable going forward.

If these 2 guys can show something as the season progresses, our offseason becomes more straightforward and clear.

Has any player or coach under Vrabel consistently maintained an upward trajectory over time? Seriously asking, because I was thinking about this and I’m trying to find something to be hopeful about.

The answer is yes. Jrob also did him no favors by letting some solid players walk. To name a few, players drafted: jeffrey simmons, AJ Brown, Nate Davis, Amani Hooker, David Long, Harold Landry, Teair Tart. players signed or already on team: Derrick Henry, Autry, Lewan, Jones, Tannehill, Roger Saffold, & maybe Conklin.

Also have to remember NFL careers are very short.

How could we possibly know when any player he starts to develop Jrob traded or refused to resign ?

In all seriousness, if Frank Reich gets fired…. Then Vrabel could have ended this coach’s job as a head coach TWICE

Apparently the panthers owner was shaking his head and yelling f-bombs coming out of Nissan Stadium, per Easton Freeze on the hot read podcast.

Guys just because it’s bad, doesn’t mean it can’t get worse.

Levis was kinda meh in this game, had good and bad streaks. Those three scoring drives were awesome, but he really struggled late after those drives. Needs to cut down on the turnover worthy plays, and needs to not forget about his deep shot. He also had a couple of wide open misses. Definitely a day where we saw the accuracy issues predraft show themselves. But he’s shown mostly improvement in that so I think it could just be a bad day. Here’s to hoping he continues to get better as he has since college.

Question for the pro tankers—do you still watch the games and root for the team to lose as you watch?

I want to keep winning with Duncan at LT so we can look at other needs
