Can someone explain to me what the point of bringing him in was? When they signed him I had big expectations for him as a “big slot” but it seems like all they’ve tried doing with him is using him as another in-line TE. With the severe shortage of pass catchers on this team you’d think they would have tried to get him more involved than they did. Does the guy just suck or are they completely misusing him?

He’ll go somewhere else and be fine just like Jonnu, while our QBs throws back shoulder passes 10 yards out of bounds.

Never made any sense to me. He’s just an oversized WR that can’t block for shit.

For the team the Patriots were trying to put together for 2023, he made absolutely no sense.

I only think he’s here cause BOB recruited him at Penn.

He’s consistently been open. Have you seen Mac lobbing the ball up nowhere within his vicinity? Mac missed him on open touchdown passes in the Commanders and Colts games in back to back weeks. He didn’t simply forget how to play from his time in Miami. He’s been doing his job and has been surprisingly good in the run game. The Op is making the same mistake people made with Jonu Smith last year. People were saying Jonu was terrible… then he went to a somewhat coherent offense and looks like a legitimate top TE again. Gesicki is a victim of having poor quarterback play around him.

I think he has been getting more open but Mac is a terrible QB and cannot see the open man.

Pretty sure it’s impossible to judge any receivers and tight ends when they have Mac throwing to them. They could be good but we’ll never know.
