Dobbs seems like a genuinely nice guy and has made his fair share of lemonade from the lemons he’s been given. His performance this week was not great, but his receivers were responsible for 3 of his 4 interceptions.

He truly is the Kirk Cousins of the Vikings.

Three of those picks were off the hands of his receivers. But Dobbs still made more big passes tonight than Pickett did in like half the season

In defense of Dobbs, 2 of those ints were 100% on his receivers, 1 was just an absolutely outstanding play by the defender, and the final one was 100% on him… I’m still a Brine Believer though

Well if he can’t make it as a starter there’s always NASA just for the fun of it

Well TBF it was one bad game & 2 of the picks literally hit his receivers in the hands. The other 2, ya those were just horrible throws.

Having said that, I wish the kid the best, but honestly, he’s not much more than a backup in this league.

He’s a very capable backup, and can win a few games especially with his legs. Would’ve been great to have him around for Kenny. So yes, the Steelers absolutely should’ve kept Dobbs, and hopefully they bring him back and dump Mitch. But they should not have kept him to be QB1.

Based on this seasons stats he would be a better QB1 than Pickett right now.

I have nothing against Dobbs but I called this day one, he’s gonna come out and win a game or two and then teams are gonna be prepared for him and it’s gonna go back to a backup starting

I mean most of the coaching staff issue was recently solved. Still think we have 1-2 more to go.

Kenny had one game of better-than-average play. Dobbs had one awful game with a lot of deflected passes. Maybe we all should hold our judgments until 3-4 games?

Dobbs has been bad in multiple games this year. People just look at the stat sheet and make presumptions.

He has a good offensive minded coach in Minnesota who was able to help protect him from himself for the most part.

But in the end, Dobbs is 2-9 as a starter this year. He’s not an NFL caliber starter.

This thread is about Dobbs but ok.

Kenny has been bad in multiple games this year. He had an atrocious offensive minded coach in Pittsburgh who made things harder for him than they had to be.

But in the end, Kenny is 14-9 as a starter in his career. He’s an NFL caliber starter. But we don’t really know if he’ll be an above average, average, or bad one.

This thread is about Dobbs, but ok.

It’s clear OP was drawing a comparison, which my response (that you responded to) addressed. Either you’re too obtuse or (based on your other smart commentary) trying to goal shift and be a bad-faith interlocutor. Either way, not worth continuing. Have a great day!

I like Josh Dobbs and am glad he’s generally doing well. He deserves it. Too bad he had a rough game.

People have to remember that Dobbs was not very good when he was here. He is now a seven year veteran and has learned and grown as a QB over those years.

Our fan base doesn’t have the patience to let Pickett develop over 2-3 years, let alone a Seven year Josh Dobbs timeline.

Josh Dobbs just threw as many INTs against the Bears as Kenny Pickett has thrown all season.

    The most important stat…

    2-9.

Which is Dobbs’ record as a starter this season.

    2-11 all-time.

    He’s not any good.

The posts saying we could’ve had Dobbs were being reactionary.

    This post is also reactionary.

It’s all the same behavior, just coming from different sides.

Ironically, people are engaging in the exact same behavior as the people they complain about, and apparently, unable to see it.

It was the same thing yesterday with Pickett. People who complained about reactionary posts before are now the ones making them.

This sub needs to get over itself.
