Yes, valve doesnt do as much as they could, and one could argue it’s not as much as they should, given the size and dedicated playerbase. But there are so many companies that would update the game more and milk it dry of all it has, then cast it aside when the genre loses even more popularity than it has.

My friends who play league haven’t said a single good thing about the game in 3 years. Lol.

Valve is one of the most trust worthy developers; they are 10x better than nonsense like blizzard, yet they are frustrating in other ways. It always feels like they are solid at making and maintaining great games, while also feeling like they just don’t want to put in the effort to do more. Seeing DPC dwindle and with how they have treated the game in the last couple years feels like there is a bit of a disconnect. Maybe ice frog really is gone. The cancellation of TI, mixed with the last minute cancel of the winter major show we’re just ridiculous. It’s like they are SO good and I’m so glad they stick with dota, yet they just completely faulter in other ways. Part of me thinks it’s just the fact that they don’t even have to do any of this with steam sales. Valve could pack up and exit the gaming industry anytime they wanted and just use steam but they are still developing their franchises and just leaving them out to die at the same time. They are such a catch 22. But cannot hate them. We are blessed to have valve in the current gaming industry. BLESSED I tell you. But damn does it still hurt.

I can be pissed at the patch and still be grateful that dota2 is owned and developed by valve.

how to play call of duty multiplayer? is it free?

For example, what if valve decided to stop supporting dota 2 or sold it and they put out a big patch that changes the game too much, would dota 2 still be played in some format?

Like on some server with a fixed patch?

Who in their right fucking mind said “Yes, I want this game developed by one of the most user-friendly companies within the entirety of the gaming industry, to instead be developed by one that LITERALLY PRODUCES SCAMS, and has both THREATENED TO MURDER, AND ALSO CAUSED THE DEATH OF IT’S OWN EMPLOYEES instead.”

Bunch of dumb pricks fucking hate Valve on this subreddit, but Valve is legitimately doing more for the Dota playerbase than most-if not all of it’s major competitors on the market, as of the present day.

It’s like damn, take a look at the current state of the games industry, and then look at Dota, which is comprised of devs that likely don’t even know what investors are, and just make the game for the sake of the people that actually enjoy it. Meanwhile Riot is pushing $200 recolours of existing skins, and committing it’s entire game dev budget into marketing for skins while the game rots in the background. Or Blizzard, with the borderline unplayable garbage they push in the form of two dead-on-arrival games; Overwatch 2, Diablo 4, and then every other IP they own sitting and rotting in a corner. They only want to make gambling machines that extort their playerbase to please investors and feed their CEO’s bank account.

Every day i wake up and thank god that Dota 2 isn’t LoL

I’d be grateful if Valve would stop being so lazy compared to previous years.
