Fumbles are bad. They were rushing only three or four, and had 7 or 8 in coverage. Fields had fewer options and the Vikings took away the passing game in the fourth quarter. You saw Fields holding the ball and looking all over for open guys, I guess there weren’t any. It’s not like he was pulling the ball down and running without thinking pass first. Apparently no one was there to throw to. That happens when a team is playing 7 back. You saw in some of the wide shots, especially when Fields ran, the linebackers were deeper. The problem I saw all night was when the Vikings didn’t blitz, their four guys were still beating our 5 or 6 guys and getting heat on Fields. However, Fields did make several impressive plays, running out of the pocket and finding open receivers. Overall, he had a good, not great game. The defense was ridiculously good last night. The only downside I saw was again, the terrible play calling. People say “well Fields can’t throw down field more than five yards” First, that isn’t true. Second, that’s not the game the OC called. I just hope Getsy and Co. don’t get it in their heads that last nights gameplan “worked” because it didn’t. Moore, Fields, Kmet, and others MADE it work.

Im glad we don’t have to listen to the “haven’t won an nfcn game in 2 years” talking point anymore!

Defense looked solid. Terell Smith looked good for just slotting in last night. Offense looked like an offense that has absolutely never even thought about planning for the blitz and just said “uh…screen?”

It’s not a talking point - it was the truth. One win doesn’t really change it. We went from not being able to beat the Packers to not beating anyone in the division.

And I get it, context matters. We went through a rebuild. But if you’re going to win games at all, winning division games are appreciated.

Grayson McCall is supposably the best pocket passer in the draft. He’s a 4 year starte at Coastal Carolina, going 38-11.

I would trade down and get MHJ and OL or DL and take McCall in the 2nd round (which would be acquired from the trade. I know he’s not the big name QB but fact is Caleb is Fields, Nix, Penix Jr., and Sanders aren’t it, and Drake has his own issues.

    1. Winning is good…Bear Down!

    2. I would rather be the Bears today than the Vikings

    3. Fields is not the guy… 200 yards, zero TDs, 3 sacks and 2 fumbles…this is not quality, especially when the D spots you 4 extra possessions.

    4. The D is coming together. Pressure, sacks, INT, run stopping.

    5. Penalties…70 yards, is just a potential game killer.

    6. The Bears have a lot of pieces, and some units are starting to work well together, but I don’t think they have the leaders to pull it together, especially on offense. Something isn’t working with Fields and Getsy, but both seem unable to adjust to put together anything resembling a competent NFL offense. Flus seems unable to solve this problem, so he needs to go also.

Honestly I think running it back without Getsy wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Flus got the D looking great the last few weeks

I say we do what the Texans did: pass on one of the top QBs and build around our Davis Mills for another year.

The fact that Getsy still has a job after last night is downright criminal.

Decent ol, decent wrs, decent rbs and decent defense. No matter what the sub says, if we can get a new coach, this is the best spot for a no 1 overall qb in years. Of course we are not exceptionally talented, but I have seen flashes from the defense that makes me very confident for next year. With 2 frps and quite a lot of cap space, a top qb prospect can hit the ground running

Did you actually believe people when they said they didn’t care about how Fields played against the Lions or the Broncos and just wanted him to show us he could win?

    Me neither.

I’m happy that we won, but I’m kinda sad that the Lions are going to win the division now. “The Bucs have won the division more recently than the Lions” is about to be a dead meme.

hey, a win is a win! Great for morale and the core group to finally get a game-winning drive against a division rival

It has been brought to my attention that this sub knows 100% that Ben Johnson is the next coming of Bill Belichick and he needs to be the next head coach of the Chicago Bears. I am sorry for doubting him and with him the best moving forward with this team…

Justin Fields is either too pussy to call audibles or just doesn’t have the QB IQ to do it. Either way, MHJr. isn’t gonna improve his inability to read defenses and make anticipation throws.

MHJ might get more wide open so Fields can pass it to him. But i agree. He needs to throw more anticipatory passes. Every time i say this. I’m downvoted because Fields is not making these types of throws

Dont even get me started on that pass to Mooney when Fields scrambled out to the left side and threw a straight hospital ball to Mooney who might caught it and ran it some more if it was a better pass
