It the nature of the beast. You have a starter. Starter goes down you have back ups. Unless you have money to have 3 starters on your roster you just roll with it.

This is very accurate. And it’s the same reason why we are constantly in this vicious circle every damn season.

People can love Kirk all they want, but we’d be in a much more manageable situation if we hadn’t gone all in on Kirk with all that money when we did. I feel like it put us in a real bind for 6 seasons with only one playoff win to show for it.

I’ll have to look at what our drafting options would’ve been in 2018 if we didn’t hire Kirk or 2019 (if we went another season with Keenum).

I’m not defending Dobbs because that was terrible.

But I also wonder how much was truly the Bears formatting their entire plan around their defense stopping Dobbs from doing what he does.

They have plenty of tape now with him to craft a simple defensive plan to keep him passing. Both teams sucked and both offenses sucked. But I think they had our simple offense figured out.

So I guess I’m also making your point. They had him figured out easily because he doesn’t have many tricks up his sleeve. They knew what to do and we didn’t get aggressive enough when it mattered.

I feel like that play calling against Denver was KOC trying to get him to settle down a bit and pass first. Maybe the coach trying to find that balance between the two quarterbacks.

You can’t blame KOC and Kwesi for Kirk and a lot of the other roster. They inherited a lot of this. Plus, if we didn’t stupidly give Kirk one of the biggest contracts of all time just for one playoff win we wouldn’t be in this spot. Could’ve kept Keenum another season and did just as well in 2018 and/or signed a young qb in the draft. And had a lot more money.

Please sit out. So you can be fresh for KOC to give you every snap in the playoffs even after chandler kills it the rest of the season leading up to it.

I don’t know what they did with the most current Vikings app but it’s terrible! At least on Roku. I had to google it even because it was so generic!

I’m still salty that we had the season we did in 2017 and then fired Keenum! I know he didn’t do well after that, but still should’ve been his job to lose. He fit well with the team that season.

So I’d hate for that to happen again.

But still should draft a qb. Seems like we always force ourselves to constantly question that position on this team!

It looks like it literally takes up almost the same space.

It’s depth! There isn’t a ton of top 5 quarterbacks out there waiting for jobs. I’m all for getting a body in here to not have to watch Mannion play again.

I do NOT want anything even close to a big contract for some kind of band aid bridge quarterback.

I’d rather just ride it out and draft.
