I’m a pop truther and I’ve been frustrated myself with some of the things that have occurred to start the year. But with a sample size this small, in the early parts of a rebuild, you don’t have to agree with what pop is doing. You don’t have to think it’s the right way. You have to simply try to understand and acknowledge the logic behind it. The reasons for what he’s doing. And there are plenty of reasons
And plenty of people have no interest in trying to do that. They would much rather be hyperbolic and angry. Pop has a sense of logic behind every decision that people have deemed wrong so far. How about we wait until we have a proper sample size, and opportunities for him to make adjustments as well, in a year that was always going to be about development and furthering the rebuild, before getting so up in our feelings?

Some of these people are starting to remind me of Lakers fans. There’s a sense of unearned entitlement and expectation that everything should be done their way and if things aren’t all smiles and rainbows, they’re ready to blow everything up.
This was always going to be a rebuilding year. The team wants to win, but they want to build something sustainable. The Rockets are paying two role players roughly $63M a year for the next 4 years. Is that a sustainable strategy for a small market like the Spurs? Probably not. Building out the skillset of all of their young players is a priority for this team. Not just one.
Pop’s been at this since the gap between Jordan’s titles. Why do so many people with so little knowledge game think they know the game better?
