Honest question and not a troll

If your being honest and realistic as a fan, the Vikes aren’t winning the SB let alone even getting to the SB, so why do you want them to win, instead of bettering their draft position?

As a fan I’m always rooting for them to win, but at this point it doesn’t destroy me when they lose and in fact, I see it as being better for the Vikes long term.

I get the idea of getting in the play-offs anything can happen thoughts, but in reality, with Dobbs, Mullens or Hall at QB, it isn’t happening even with JJ.

Playing for next year is ridiculous proposition. Play for today. Watching wins are better than losses. You can find quality players throughout the draft. We are already not going to get a top pick, so I choose to cheer for our current Vikings good or bad! I’m not cheering for negativity and loss.

It’s fun to watch when we win and it isn’t fun to watch when we lose, that’s basically it.

As of right now you are in the playoffs entering December with an ok lead on it. Play to win. At this point losing out wouldn’t get you THAT good of a pick and there is value in young players and coaches learning how to win these December games.

Because they’re my favorite football team and I will never root for them to lose?

Because I like watching competitive football

I am disgusting by how many ‘fans’ have talked so much this year about how they want to lose

It is so gross and makes me hate sports…but then I remember only the most pathetic fans are like that and 90% aren’t

'#1: I want the team to establish a winning culture and effective schemes and playbooks on both sides of the ball. I believe we’re better off making the playoffs, trading up to 5-10 and bringing a young, developing QB into a good situation (like the Chiefs did with Mahomes, the Bills did with Allen, and the Eagles did with Hurts) than drafting #1 overall and bringing a better prospect into a dumpster fire.

'#2: It’s an unpredictable league, and surprise playoff runs happen. If we have even a 1% chance of having a Nick Foles style Super Bowl run, I want to take it.

'#3: I like watching my favorite team win as often as possible.

I agree, JJ coming back isn’t fixing this problem. Our offense is designed for Kirk. He’s gone so our hopes of a good season are gone. The Dobbs honeymoon was fun but it’s over. it was over the 2nd half of the Saints game and I said it back then. It was clear once teams got some tape on the guy in our offense, he was easy to stop.

Playoff experience is so important for both coaches and players. It also keeps the team happy and the locker room afloat. Purposely losing gives players a reason to just leave, and want to leave.

Outside of locker room things, winning is a good thing, and not giving your best effort translates into the season. What’s the point of even tanking, so you can be bad for another 2-3 years while your rookie QB develops?
