It’s a potential hot take, but hear me out: It all hinges on whether the Bills make the playoffs. If they do, he will stay 100%, but if not, people will ask him to be fired, which I don’t think will happen. The Bills have become a relevant and constant playoff team/talking point for the media since he has come, which means more money for everyone. He cleaned up an awful mess of a franchise and should be hailed for that alone.

Instead, the Bills will likely pay big money for a high-end offensive coordinator, and they may take away offence play calls from him. We’re a small market team and not a “fun” free-agent destination for players or coaches. The owners will likely get cold feet and keep him for at least one more season. Pray things get better. That or you gonna see him #1 on those hot seat lists before next season

I disagree. This is a Super Bowl caliber roster and I just think it says a lot that our standard is making the playoffs now. Coaching has ruined the team. For me we need new progress or new coaching. We need to make the Super Bowl or find a new HC. He’s had years. How many more does he need?

    • Pagula will have to decide he wants to spend the money on a good DC
    • We will need a DC who’s willing to come to Buffalo despite knowing that Frazier most likely stepped down because of tensions between him and McD not letting him do his job.
    • McD will have to be willing to step aside and let the DC call the plays without interfering.

That’s a lot of pieces to fall into place, with one big fucking piece just making a mess.

Yeah he’s not going to get fired. We have the second best winning percentage of any sports franchise since 2019 trailing only the chiefs

Look at teams like Baltimore - last year missed the playoffs, this year #1 . McD has faults that can be addressed by getting other people calling plays and managing games but I think he stays for what he builds (lose 3 stars and defense still steps up? )

I agree, unless they can get someone who they think is better to do the coaching.

No joke, if Bill Belichick is on the market, I say swing for the fucking fences. He may be older than the sands of time, but all that old fuck does is win. We need some if that in our lives.

They will eventually part ways. But i’m willing to bet it will be a year(or several) to late. Might be 25’ maybe 27’ ? Whenever it is most will agree “ we should have just let him go in ‘24

McDermott has shown himself to be a very good strategic thinker, and a middling tactical thinker. What I want to see from him now is evidence that he can learn from his mistakes. Haven’t seen it yet.

So who else is out there? I woke up in a cold sweat last night after having a dream I which we hired Belichick.
