Too many personalities in the scene routinely showcase incredible abrasiveness and arrogance which pushes away newcomers and fosters general toxicity and negativity in the community.

I’m thinking about creators such as IWD, LS, Thorin and Monte, people like Forest and Veigarv2 on twitter- they all often do this thing where if they disagree with someone they don’t know, they treat them with absolutely 0 respect, making it clear that not only do they disagree, but that the person is an idiot for thinking/feeling it.

Watching these streamers treat people like dirt over low-stakes disagreements while their chat eggs them on and echoes them is just shit to see and clearly fosters even more toxicity in a community struggling with that already.

And obviously not all creators are like this, Caedrel for example has a much more positive, self-deprecatory vibe and I’m not surprised he has blown up to the level he has.

And I’m not speaking on their analysis here, they are clearly intelligent about the game/industry. They also don’t treat people like this all the time, but it does happen far too often, and I think the community suffers for it.

I don’t expect anything to change, and if any of these creators saw this thread I’m sure they’d much sooner treat me like an idiot before anything else, but I just wanted to get these thoughts out.

Exactly man. LS was still doing things like mini draft kingdoms and full focus commentaries for the first half of this year. The MSI final cast with Atlus was awesome as well and I really enjoyed the vibe overall.

But things just went downhill since then where he just stopped doing those things with more and more guests joining the stream and didn’t read chat. The worst part is that a lot of the times he would just be staring at the monitor busy tweeting or chatting, missing entire teamfights and completely ignoring everyone else in call, then just say “oh they won, nice nice nice”. It was unwatchable at some point.

I started watching the rat as an alternative and it clicked immediately. I don’t mean to hate on LS or anything but it’s just sad to see how the stream turned out

Not to mention, every guest he has on the stream is just a part of his echo chamber. They all agree with how LS thinks and they just have this circlejerk on every topic or opinion.

I went back to watch all the co-streamers’ reactions to the JDG vs T1 series, and LS missed so much because he was staring at another monitor. He missed the ENTIRE T1 Baron throw game 3 when they overcommitted on 369. He then came back to say, “Omg what happened?”

I just don’t understand. If you’re a co-streamer, shouldn’t your main focus be the game? It really takes away from the viewers’ experience when he isn’t even paying attention to what’s happening.
