Boomer supposedly heard from sources within the Jets that they think the turf situation is hurting their ability to sign FA. When asked to clarify he said he thinks it was from “multiple players”.
I’ve got a healthy dose of skepticism when it comes to sports “sources”, but regardless I think it’s a good point and discussion worth having.
Rodgers didnt seem to care about the turf until September of this year.

It’s not just the turf. It’s the history of losing, instability, and ownership.

If you feel that the turf is an issue then install grass. Split the cost with the Mara’s. Problem solved.

Yeah between the quality of the turf and the fact that we are one of the worst teams in the league with a culture of losing who hasn’t been to the playoffs in 12 years with a HC and GM who are both on the hot seat in one of the most expensive COL areas with the highest income tax burden in the country I could see this turning off free agents.
If it also impacts the Giants signing free agents then I’ll believe it
Boomer is an irrelevant hack.
For those commenting that other teams have the same turf not all turf is the same. Only 3 other stadiums have field turf core that the jets use.
Falcons, Panthers, Pats .
I don’t see why this wouldn’t be a deterrent, injury risk is a bigger deal than the team being terrible. A good free agent could fix the team and make them not terrible . The issue is them being able to stay on the field.
For those wondering. They will not be changing the surface of the field. They are waiting for the World Cup because FIFA is going to pay to change the field to grass then for the tournament.
Historically comical lack of success, cold weather, shitty traffic, high cost of living, high state taxes, etc.
The turf is low on the list of things keeping free agents away.
Are the giants having the same issues?
I can see this being true…
