I am obviously a huge Stroud fan, and get that you aren’t supporting the group, or saying you agree with their views, but still referencing them brings attention to the group and is pretty cringe.

If the Vikings fans called themselves Kirk Kousins Kids, or chiefs Kadarius Kelce Killers, or Arryn Rodger’s Nationals people wouldn’t be chill about it.

Just because the “Proud Boys” have a stupid name doesn’t mean they aren’t a huge hate group and using their name to represent us is dumb and makes us look bad.

I’m with you on this. I see it here and there but not very often. I don’t think it’ll become popularized because you have to be pretty dumb to use this seriously. I’m hoping most of us are in the same thought process, but it’s also the internet so you putting this up probably has more people trolling you now than anything.

Personally, I think any nickname gets us into letterman jacket territory. But if I’m playing devil’s advocate:

It’s a nickname in support of a black quarterback. If anything, I’m hoping the proud boys are pissed.

Besides that, Jacksonville has their great Aryan dream and they are about to realize they have met their Jesse Owens.

Look, I hate the Proud Boys but it’s just a meme dude. The Proud Boys are decimated and humiliated after Jan 6.

If you want a laugh listen to the Behind the Bastards episode on them. They are not something anyone should take seriously. They’re pathetic.

There were all sorts of Third Reich memes about Frank Reich. It’s fine. Let it go.

Do we wanna name our fandom after a group embarrassed in january? Sounds like an invitation to the football gods

Touché but imo it’s just fine as an obscure internet meme satirizing pop culture like /r/the_darnold. I wouldn’t be okay with this becoming some cultural force for this team or something Stroud has to hear all the time

The problem is the louder we get about calling out the casual racists, the harder they dig in their heels in response and the louder they become just to spite the other side.

Point of fact: Proud Boys are not literal Nazis as they are not members of the German Armed Forces under the Nazi Party Regime.

But they support and believe everything the nazis did and only aren’t them because they don’t have the same power

I couldn’t care less about the “Proud Boys” but I do care about semblance of accuracy.

You can easily do a bit of actual research and realize this isn’t true at all

Imo you’re just repeating some stuff you heard one time from someone who you think “knows their stuff” …

The whole Proud Boys thing has much less nefarious origins.

That said, I don’t care either way

But I also can’t walk by if I’m listening to someone attempting to educate people about WW2 and claiming it began in 1951 Wisconsin
