I really feel like there’s no real team chemistry except with Bridges and Ball. They work really well together… Hayward and Terry also seem to play good ISO ball together. Other than that, there’s no real flow of offense or defense.

Does anyone agree or disagree?

Why is the chemistry so awkward? Could it be the rotations?

How can the chemistry improve?

There is nowhere near enough care factor or hustle from our guys, especially the younger ones. Look at the Magic right now - that’s called giving a shit. The vibe is mild and it’s probably cause they’re being coached by a grandpa.

You’re complaining about lack of ball/player movement on offense, which is a valid gripe. But this isn’t a chemistry problem. By all accounts, pretty much everyone on our team likes each other.

    It’s a roster construction/offensive scheme issue.

We have two, maybe three guys on the entire roster (Melo, Hayward, Miller) who are above-average primary or secondary playmakers, and our offensive system places zero emphasis on player motion, cutting, or reversing the ball around the horn to force defensive shifts (ie, three things good offensive teams like the Nugs, Kings, Warriors, and Heat have lead the league in for years).

We’re trying to bake a cake (have a good offense) while subbing out sugar (playmaking) for salt and frosting (motion/passing) for mayonnaise and wondering why it tastes like shit rn

I don’t think chemistry is a problem myself all the guys seem to rock w one another on and off the court. Everybody has a role and plays it well, something just don’t seem to fit tho.

I def think we need a new coach for sure. I like/love cliff and he’s done good for what we needed him to do in a crunch situation. Nothing against cliff, but I’d like for us to find that exciting new young next best thing coach like kerr, spoe, mazzula, Malone, mosely & udoka. Someone along those lines that would come in assemble a complimentary lineup and a offense revolved around ball movement and player movement.

We close tho, but I think you along the right lines bc obvs some em ain’t gelling. We should be better than what we are as far as wins, with the talented players we do have! No reason for us to lose to knicks by 25, or wizards by 20 plus lol.

It’s not so much chemistry as outside of Ball there’s no one else who can create for others. Rozier is a gunner who can create his own shot (although not particularly efficiently). Bridges is ok but hes not a good facilitator when he’s the primary guy. And without good shooters that can reliably hit 3s ball movement isn’t as effective because teams don’t have to respect the perimeter as much, so guys can’t attack hard close outs.

Offensive coaching should be better, no doubt about it. But the talent just isn’t there overall. It takes rookies time to learn all the little things so Miller will certainly improve. But Heyward and PJ have to be better. And the bench has no threats on the perimeter. Without Ball they offense will be bad. Really bad.

I coached youth basketball and sports for almost ten years… the team should have a flow by the 3rd game. Everyone knew there roles!
