Patriots having a projected top 3 pick is a foreign language to fans like myself. Was born in 2001 and all I’ve known is the Patriots being competitive. Things eventually have to change though and now it’s time to rebuild.

But for the older Patriots fans who witnessed the low years before the dynasty, how does this team compare to them? We had some real stinker years in 90 and 92 winning 3 games combined. Along with a few years of 5-11 and 6-10 throughout those times as well.

Is this the lowest you’ve seen or it still doesn’t compare to some of the pre Brady era Patriots?

The way BB is handling it? players all over the place not know who was starting? IMO yes.

Those 90s teams were AWFUL…but we are now awful…plus have BB fucking us all from his GM duties to drafting fuck ups

No. the Rod Rust team was the worst Patriots team of all time.

A 100% completely dysfunctional operation from the owner on down to the water boy, without any positive aspects whatsoever. Poor effort, poor execution, poor roster building, poor coaching, terrible discipline, cancerous locker room notorious for sexually harassing a female reporter, which the owner handled by calling her a “classic bitch”.

They didn’t just lose games, they lost their humanity. It was a collection of malcontents and assholes, and everyone was to blame.

This team has a decent defense, that plays hard, and while the offense is completely broken, players are still trying to play well and don’t appear to have completely given up.

The coach/GM is certainly up for criticism but is probably getting as much out of this terrible roster as is possible.

The offense is as bad as 90 or 92…17 points against a mediocre and a bad team along the DAL and NO games, and with Macs atrocious INT’s make this offense unwatchable. The coaching is pretty ass this year( stop the studio screens already)but not as bad as the Ninety’s.

The D though is not bad. Certainly not 1990 bad, and if Judson and Gonzalez was there they be a good D.

Either way they are not fun to watch.

I was around for the bad 80’s years too. The early 80’s were garbage too.

I don’t think it’s as bad as the really bad teams I grew up with. This year we have a good defense and a bad offense. In the bad years of the 90s we were bad at everything. This team is only a few pieces from being competitive. Those teams weren’t.

The one thing that’s scary is we have a coach who won’t be around in a few years and who knows who our next coach will be. Back then we didn’t have a coach but got the big tuna, then Carroll (he wasn’t great here but with hindsight was a good decision) and then of course Belichick. How long after Belichick retires before we have a good coach or GM? I guess we’ll see.

We also had the number one pick and got a franchise quarterback. A few different turns and Bledsoe might have even been in the Hall of Fame. If nothing else there were points when he was a top 5 QB in the league.
