I’m just curious if it’s because there was a particular app or a workflow that motivated you to get a MacBook? Or just the Apple ecosystem?
Genuinely just curious.
Because I like wasting money. Legitimately I bought mine for personal use. No work at all. And it was a total waste of money.
I barely use the thing and do just about everything on my iPad.
last longer, my 2010 mbp is still functional, I also got 2015 and 2019 mbp variants.
Best power on battery and battery lasting whole day only resin
I am looking forward to buy my first MacBook soon. Only thing holding me back is the gaming on Macs which is limited. Everything else is a no brainier
Don’t really have a choice, have to have it for ios development.
Didn’t but yet but planning to. For the apple ecosystem, the performance, smoothness and simplicity
I’m a developer so was kinda forced in to getting one if I wanted to develop for Apple products
I just got tired of Windows. The never ending updates on my work computer. It’s like I need a patch every other day that requires restart and I don’t even know what it is, KB375935 KB474027, whatever.
Former IT operations guy. I used to support both macs and windows in the 90s and early 00s
Went totally windows from 00s to 2009 And then picked up my 1st iPhone
Bought subsequent iPhones, iPads then the Apple Watch
Bought my 1st 2022 MacBook in December 2022 as a Christmas gift to myself
I’m not completely switched to Apple I still work in windows for work. But for personal or recreation I’m either on apple or Linux platforms
Because on the road, there is no better device out there that can handle photo and video editing better. The battery life is so insanely good. I got my laptop in July and only have 9 battery cycles on the device. Its reliable, has air drop (content creators in teams know how important this is to your work flow in bad wifi areas), and the screen is fantastic.
A MacBook was just the next step. I’ve been in the ecosystem for a long time, since learning Basic on my parents’s Apple II in the late 70s.
As someone who would be buying laptops in a MacBook’s price range even if I went windows (no $500 machines here), they seem like pretty perfect all around machines. I’m not a power user who needs or even wants my laptop to be extremely good at one thing at the expense of other aspects, and I just love lots of things about my MacBook - trackpad (mediocre trackpad is a huge dealbreaker for me), battery life, the screen quality. Build quality and customer service are also great
I also just prefer MacOS bc of iPhone compatibility but that’s more subjective
my wife works for apple and has the M1 Macbook Air, she has it for school purposes. I prefer tablets, I use my Ipad for work among other convenient features, but different people have different purposes to get a laptop, just not for me. Ipad suits me for ease and convenience.
MacBooks with Apple silicon are the only laptops that give you true mobile power. With others, you choose either mobile or power.
Dumbest reason ever … To FaceTime with my gf😂… But mostly bought into the M1 app. Have some regrets… Mostly the screen sharing limitations but other than that it’s been an enjoyable switch from windows
