Hey guys, recently i got into league because of my friends and it is really fun to play. Now i want to play ranked matches even without my friends but im afraid that my teammates will Flame me for everything i do wrong, im not the best Player and still learning. Is it a thing that you mute the chat in game?

It sounds like a stupid question but i consider myself stupid so its ok haha.

I’m sure others have said this, but I’ll throw my two cents in. Yes muting chat is a thing, you hold tab, go to your icon and press the volume icon next to it. That mutes everyone and everything.

Let’s put the toxicity this way. I’d say that in at least 60-70% of my games there’s at least one person who will say toxic things. You can usually guess who it’s gonna be because they’re almost always the people playing the champs known for being strong. Champs like Yasuo for example. They’ll flame you and your team, and blame everyone but themselves and the enemy team. The thing is, they’re usually mad because theyre not there for the same reason everyone else is. They don’t enjoy the challenge or the team play. They’re there to feel like gods by playing strong champs and carrying the game.

In other words, muting chats a great idea. That way you don’t waste your time and energy listening to a bunch of narcissists with brain rot trying to tell you it’s your fault they aren’t getting to pretend they’re a god, that your the worst player they’ve ever seen, and even though your just support it’s your fault they died in top lane 10 different times and now the Nasus can 1 v 5 underneath tower.

If anyone is toxic to you, just mute the chat and/or the pings (since a large amount of people don’t use their in any way that is constructive), there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Sadly it is often the case that someone writes something mean or condescending and if you can’t deal with that, then just mute them.

I can especially advise to just disable the All-Chat in your settings, since it is officially THE MOST USELESS FEATURE in all of league of legends. The only thing that happens in all-chat, are taunts, trolls or flames. There is no constructive conversation happening in all-chat, so there is literally no point in keeping it activated during ranked games.

It’s more of, the inconveniences in the game, the players i can easily ignore, until I can’t, aka when they refuse to surrender a 25|1 Draft like they’ll lose LP or when they start trying way too hard in Aram and ruining the game for both teammates and enemies (god the amount of people i got banned for trying too hard in my team/enemy team in aram is sad)

Yes it’s rather toxic and you WILL get flamed, have your life threatened, be called all sorts of nasty stuff. Mute chat and try your best is the only way to play this game.

I was once called a semi sentient cum sock for playing Azir Top. To this day i still wonder what he meant by that.

he pretty much called you dumb, that’s about it, it’s along the lines of “you are so dumb you are not actually human”

hence the semi sentient cum sock - not fully sentient as he did not recognize you as such, and cum sock cuz well, the life had to start somewhere i guess

at least that’s my best guess

LoL is as toxic as other multiplayer games. LoL simply had the fame of being so popular that people would witness the intensity of gaming toxicity.

It’s probably the worst community for toxicity atleast in my experience. Dead by daylight is pretty close though

Turn the chat off immediately. League players are very toxic. I’ve been playing with it off for a couple months now and the one time I turned it back on I had a Riven telling me some foul stuff.

Yesterday we were winning an aram match, someone on my team said a play I did was nice, this was all it took for another teammate to say: [Team] “Nah he only stealing kills”; [All] “You win guys!” *proceeds to afk* *refuses to elaborate further*
