Seriously i had to google the rune to see if it was still in the game, i swear to everything that is holy i have not seen it once this season, ive even seen Spellbook a few times but not Predator.
Is the rune just not balanceable or are they waiting for next season?

Riot quickly forgets about predators, just look at cookielol
Riot does this Thing where they nerf somehing to the Ground and then leave it there only to remove it from the Game later. They did it with Statikk in Season 10, they did it with Turbo Chemtank now in Season 13, they will do it with Predator too in a future Season.
People forget how annoying this rune is when its good because it makes some champions broken
I think this rune is indeed not balanceable every instance of it in the game it was either op or useless.
Honestly don’t miss it, glad I don’t have to see people running out of nowhere with insane speed it breaks alot of champions weakness giving a free engage.

It is just more fun to have it as a niche option than remove it entirely (singed mid uses it!) they just don’t want it being meta
I think Predator is on the shit list, it’s just too good when it works just like Chemtank/Righteous Glory before it. You get one unfair free gank every time the cooldown is ready.
It’s a not so rare case which the rune can’t be balanced properly.
Its current state is terrible as a space filler rune, but if they slightly change the values they will probably break the rune
This rune is better to be forgotten if it works like how it functions right now.
It’s no fun to see veigar or galio zooming on sidelane at min 4 to get 50 movement speed and hug you into chain CC to make you lose your lane or blow your summs.
It was made for assassins initially, but it landed well for control mages who are supposed to work by kiting back and have bad engage. This simply worked because they function best when enemies are running mindlessly towards you, and by behing behind them? They will have no way to go except towards you.
It needs to be changed in some way to have some sort of counterplay at the hands of the people who are getting ganked themselves not his lane opponent.
Think kata or fizz for example, you can just move away from them. If they use their mobility to reach you, they can’t deal much damage. (unless you are positioning too aggressively and can’t back in time).
Your question is like asking why hull breaker isn’t strong? (if it isn’t strong) Because its gameplay is so stupid to play against.
It’s my favorite rune on Jax when I’m against Zoe, Annie, Nunu, or Milio!

I tried Predator in ARAM and had it get pinged all game.
I’ve noticed whenever there is a time that its powerful enough to be the rune of choice for hecarim, warwick, etc. champs like veigar, annie, and vlad start running it too. predator annie is just flat out toxic lol
