There are two types of smurfing which people try to make as equal.

If you do it once and play an account to a consistent level, no one should care. You only make a small number of games unfair once.

Who cares if you have one account at 50% win rate at your max elo and another account also at 50% win rate a tier below because it’s your offrole.

This isn’t the problem compared to people making 100s of new accounts just to stomp. You don’t catch that “fair use” “smurf” account with phone verification or banning botted accounts because a second phone number isn’t unreasonable and you probably leveled that account by hand.

You basically get a dose of potion every time you get autoed at low hp with doran shield and second wind lol, the combo is so op you would want it way more than some potions in most ignore opponent lanes

Yone deals small amounts of ap damage and he has no actual true damage - the ““true damage”” is just a repeat of the damage you already had done to you which is reduced by armor

Crown style effect (Celestial Opposition) on the support item is very nice for enchanters .

Some sort of way to survive kayn/zac/kled ie stuff that cannot be peeled effectively on some champions is a good niche

Also a spellblade effect is very cool for some champions like taric

counterpoint, it is no longer a prestigious rank when it’s 20k people.

That level of rank decay should apply to grandmaster, which is the rank % cutoff the system was original designed for

• People on reddit identify with the fundamental problem, they want to play this cool champion but are being gatekept by a mechanic that riot described as “unshippable” after. The mechanic also feels arbitrary and just obnoxious complexity to reach base stats like making Sona play guitar hero for her w to heal the same amount next patch.

These people (and myself) are not wrong as non Riven players in identifying the problem they want solved. Riven 1 tricks and challenger players disagreeing and saying they like the mechanic is not a “better” or more correct opinion.

A problem has been raised, the suggested solution wasn’t seen as acceptable because too many dedicated players didn’t want it (I still disagree, but it is what it is), but the problem raised remains.

Riot’s take away is “people don’t feel like this champion is worth the effort” so they want to change that, perhaps this takes the shape of a larger change down the road.

Yuumi saw zero pro play at world’s and also isn’t a 40% win rate shit pick even if she isn’t great.

That is a success, riot and the playerbase don’t want yuumi to be good and this was the compromise on not just deleting her
