I just want to say after last night’s game v.s. the mavericks how happy I am the mark is our couch. The way he manages the game and our roster and his ability to get these young guys to buy into his system is just fantastic

I think other than staying with the double on Luka even while up 20 + (which IMO was a mistake) he did what he needed to do and kept the team level after giving up 30 in a row unanswered. In this type of game, that’s the best you can hope for.
Does a team of young guys typically not buy in to their coaching plan?
I think we should have made some screens for Shai instead of letting him double teamed alone and pray that he pulls a miracle on his own
Some guys here will make excuses for everything that goes wrong. You can support the team and the coach and still admit that they had a bad run.
Mark corrected the ship and showed his coaching talent with us winning this game when Mavs were up 6 late in the fourth at home with all the momentum in the world. But you have to question the constant double-teaming strategy on Luka. There are some tremendous passers like Luka/Jokic where double teams mean nothing to them. It’s wide open three pointers or easy dunks/lay-ups for their teammates every possession. When Curry/Jones got red hot in the 30-0 run, would’ve loved to just go at Luka with single coverage in the fourth. Mark probably should’ve cut Dort’s minutes too since he was clearly ineffective on both ends. Either way, I’m happy he is our coach. I’m glad we came out on top and can learn from these aggressive postseason defensive schemes.
