- The Lions are going to win the North and be in the playoffs.
- James Houston should be back before the playoffs and CJGJ has a chance to be back by the playoffs as well. If they come back healthy, there’s your pass rush and DB help.
- Us fans don’t know what was happening behind closed doors regarding trades. Asking prices are usually too high. Especially for expiring contracts.
Holmes wants this team to have long term success and not wager high drafts picks on a possible rental only. Yes a SB window can be very short but I don’t think it will be with how Holmes is setting/building this team up. I think this year we are ahead of schedule and if he hits even on just half of the draft picks next year, it’s truly all-in Super Bowl time.
I am rather happy we didn’t make a big trade. A big trade means future draft capital. We aren’t going to gamble our future draft capital to maybe have a shot this year. Were building a multiple year contender here.
Why tf would anyone be upset, we won last night and just got marvin jones jr’s replacement and he’s from Michigan.
The venn diagram of people who complained about the draft picks the day after the draft and the people who complain 1 hour after the trade deadline is a single circle.
CJGJ will be help but outside corner is very thin. We’re a rolled ankle away from potentially having to watch Will Harris cover DK/Lockett or even Aiyuk/Deebo.
We replaced Marv with DPJ. I like it, but Moseley was pegged to be or push to be outside CB2 & we haven’t addressed it since his season ending injury. A little depth would’ve been nice there.
None of this is wrong but it doesn’t mean we should be selling or futures to fill these gaps just yet. Picks are extremely valuable when you have a competent GM. Weare not in a closing window situation imo
Isn’t Houston potentially back by Thanksgiving and CJGJ by Xmas?
With the way we are drafting it’s pretty crazy to trade picks for expensive players. Keep bringing them in every year for cheap and make this a sustainable winning franchise.
We also still have a lot of younger players that could improve by the time playoffs roll around. Look at the difference between the beginning and end of last year. If we stay on an upward trajectory and Branch, Campbell, Martin, Paschal, and even Hutch keep improving we may just get better and better. Then add those two players back from IR, we could definitely have a good enough defense to cover us.
