A new Steam Deckl OLED got announced today, Limited Edition available starting on November 16th

I’m so excited! I’ve been holding off until the autumn sale, (I wasn’t sure if they’d be on sale but I was hoping for the best). Now I’m glad I did!!! I hope they don’t sell out in seconds.
The question is are we gonna be able to get this shortly after Nov 16th or is the store going to crash and we all wait 6-12 months again
I fully expect them to be unable to keep up with demand until spring.
I could have sworn valve said not too long ago that they either couldn’t or wouldn’t do an oled version
I know i don’t need this, I don’t play my 64 GB Deck nearly enough to warrant an upgrade.
But a nicer screen and better battery life is soooooo appealing…
No VRR is kinda a deal breaker being able to lock a game that can’t reach 60 stable to 40 for a great improvement in response. 😔
As someone who has never had a Steam Deck yet … I am intrigued by this. Any thoughts from owners about the experience if I’m just going to be using it plugged in at home all the time?
This is super unexpected, this looks like a great upgrade. I’m a sucker for oled but it also has improved speakers and wifi and small performance according to Digital Foundry. If I can sell the Deck I have now and if transferring is easy I may have to snag this
Is the screen backwards compatible? Hoping that it is, or that someone makes an adapter.
Can someone explain what 6nm APU means? Does it improve processor/gpu speed or is it just a node shrink and that’s it?
You know, more than an oled screen though, I want a better dpad. The decks sucks all the ass at comfortable diagonal inputs
I’m probably going to sell/trade my Deck for it.
I got the 64gb model and been dealing with that issue, I’m like right by my router but my Steam Deck still struggles to hold a connection for downloads and has artifacts while streaming games from my PC, plus I genuinely love OLED. I almost didn’t get a Deck in the first place because it wasn’t OLED, but I didn’t feel like saving nearly a $1000 on a device I didn’t know would fit my wants and needs.
Hell I’m fine with not getting an eventual Steam Deck 2 for a while after it comes out, I don’t like using LCDs so much that my iPad/Macbook Air is pretty much only used for artwork with little media consumption.
