It seems like everyone other than McDermott and Beane now seem to know better. We’re top 5 in significant amount of offensive categories. We lost some games we should have won. Nothing we’ve built matters? Blow it all up? Fire Dorsey with literally zero replacement options? Fire McDermott who took THE laughing stock of the league who couldn’t sign a C tier free agent to a literal destination for tip tier talent. What the fuck are you people smoking cuz it ain’t the good shit.
Let’s be real the offense has been inconsistent since the beginning of last year. For every Titans ‘22 and Dolphins ‘23, there are just as many clunkers (Cincy playoffs, Cincy last week, TB, NE, every Jets game the last couple years). Defense is old, injured, and also inconsistent. They’re just such an uneven team.
“Trust, but Verify”
Stats on paper mean nothing. They are heavily inflated by beating shitty teams by 30
Well the team has looked like hot garbage since week four outside of a few drives in the Buccaneers game. It’s hard to “trust the process” when the process looks like shit and it’s going backwards
We’ve trusted the process, “the process” has turned in to an evolution of the razorcakes meme.
Whatever reasons the staff comes up with for their poor performance and early exits in the playoffs at the end of the day are simply excuses.
Last season we were super bowl favorites, but the team fell apart against decent teams.
First it was 13 seconds against the Chiefs, then it was Hamlin causing the team to “fall apart”, then it was Frasier’s defense and that damn “bend don’t break” bullshit that good teams exploited every single time we played them. Then in the rematch against the Bengals in the playoffs they beat the fuck out of our team. A good team and a good coach would have rallied and won for Damar and chosen to let his brush with death motivate them instead of break their will, the Bills instead allowed it to consume them and were broken by it…using it as an excuse to let themselves off.
As it stands, the Jets are one game behind us, but they currently hold the head to head tiebreaker because we lost to them despite Rodgers going down on the 2nd play of the fucking game against us.
It seems like half of our Salary cap currently sits on IR- some of them potentially done for the season. Von Miller has not looked anything like he did before his injury. He might as well pull a Vontae Davis at this point because him being on the field in his current state is preventing more athletically talented players from being on the field at critical moments. He may or may not be capable of getting back to form, and we’re supposed to just “trust the process” on that happening to.
Meanwhile, our offense is woefully unperforming and incredibly unreliable and McDermott seems content to let Dorsey hamstring the stud QB we have in his prime because McDermott wants “complimentary” football and he lets his OC make excuses to the media about crowd noise as to why he’s not running a more up tempo offense.
If McDermott is going to stand behind Dorsey, then McDermott shares the blame. McDermott seems to be a defensive minded HC and he’s done an INCREDIBLE job managing the defense considering all the fucking injuries, but Defense is only half the battle and McDermott has seemingly ZERO interest in running an up-tempo office and playing to Josh Allen’s talents. Instead he’s trying to turn him in to a pocket passer.
Time and time again everyone talks about mobile QB’s getting injured in the league, but the unspoken part of that statistic is that most of the time those injuries happen when the Mobile QB’s are being forced to sit in the pocket and play the game in a style that’s against their natural instincts.
"Fire Dorsey with literally zero replacement options? "
The current QB coach, Joe Brady, has more time as an NFL OC than Dorsey does today.
There are options.
Trust the process is so 2019. 2022 had so many ugly wins against mediocre teams, defense running well for the past two seasons but at times it feels like running on fumes. Being successful has ironically been very damaging for morale for fans, it’s created expectation’s. Maybe there are fans from other subs coming in here posting negative shit, I imagine bills fans have been doing that same thing for years though lol.
If you were right, we’d be 7-2 and odds-on favourites to make the Super Bowl. But we aren’t, and so therefore you’re wrong. The Process is only trustworthy if it produces results, and since it hasn’t and there hasn’t been anything done to change our approach I don’t trust it.
Our process worked as well as the 76ers
People were saying fire Dorsey last year when we went 13-3
Numbers do in fact lie 🤷🏻♂️
The numbers are very good but it’s translating to….what, exactly? Not very much. We have lost games we should’ve won but we’ve also won games we could’ve very easily lost that we should’ve and could’ve won by LARGE margins in years past—which is funny, isn’t it? Considering our numbers are so good.
We could’ve easily lost the Giants game, idc how big a fan Taron for sure had a DPI that wasn’t called on Waller and had he gotten 2 hands on the ball he was coming down with it. As for the Bucs, how many times did we stall out? Idk exactly but a lot. We should’ve won that game by 20+ and instead won bc Godwin didn’t realize the ball was at his doorstep.
On the flip side, how tf did we lose to the Jets, Pats, or…and yes, I’ll have the balls to say it, the Bengals? Jets and Pats are self explanatory wtf’s but the Bengals REALLY don’t make sense. Our battered defense who I’m not even sure who was on the field half the time somehow managed to lock up the Bengals in the 2nd half and our offense did…nothing. Til it was crunch time, then all of a sudden they looked like they did on the first drive which was dominant and like they wouldn’t be stopped, at least not easily.
Somethings up. I’m tired of the optimism here where there should be skepticism at a minimum. Should we fire anyone mid season? Nah. We’re not that bad, but we’re also not that good. We’ll have to see how we finish before we start asking to blow shit up, imo.
I like McD so I think no matter what he’s gotta stay, he’s way better than ppl wanna give him credit for the defense just isn’t executing his schemes at crucial times and he’s better than Frazier. As for Dorsey, he’s someone you wait on and see how he finishes. If he gets it together then by all means, stay. If he continues to seemingly shit the bed, gtfo.
Now, something no Bills fan wants to hear and don’t get me wrong I fucking love Josh but: SOMETHING. IS. NOT. RIGHT! I get it, his shoulder, right. But I mean his decision making is…poor. I’ve seen film breakdown all week and it just exemplifies it, sadly. I’m not saying he’s regressing overall but I am saying his decision making is being influenced and I truly don’t think any of us can decipher whether it’s him, coaching, or both. Doubt it’s totally injury related considering he’s still overthrowing bombs and bullet passing into guys chests/hands that leaves bruises.
Either way: I love you, Bills Mafia, but can we all get real for a minute? Undying optimism ain’t it. Undying optimism will keep us playing the way we are. We’ve allllll been witnesses to what we’re capable of when we play our game, but I’ve said it so many times on here: we haven’t looked the same since the BYE week of last year. Not sure what happened but it’s just true.
Anyway, Go Bills!
Because this far into this regime “the process” should have been implemented. We have 0 players left over from Rex Ryan and Doug Whaley (without Sean’s input).
The process is done, let’s see the results
So much negativity. NFL is tough. We all want a championship, but it could be a lot worse.
