Coming out of nowhere, Valve delivers a brand new Steam Deck, packing a 7.4-inch OLED HDR display with a 90Hz refresh rate. But that's just the headline bull...
For me this is simultaneously the best hardware refresh and most inconvenient hardcore refresh (I guess the former is normally followed by the latter, it wouldn’t be inconvenient if it wasn’t worth getting). I know this isn’t the Steam Deck 2 but there’s definitely some crestfallen just-now-but-outside-return-window buyers of the deck who are regretting their purchase in the face of valve saying there would be no SD2 for the foreseeable future. No, valve didn’t lie but I think it was natural to assume we wouldn’t be getting a SD1.5 either.
At least the price drops help and are pretty sizable! I just wish there was a trade in program. I have the 512 launch day upgraded to 2tb plus a fan replacement. All that being said I am salivating over the limited edition, so I’ll try and sell my current deck to a family member or something
