Becton is a walking injury risk and has been decent but not great this year. He has no leverage in influencing who we draft. We need an OT whether or not we keep him

Every pick in this draft should be o-line.

Who cares what Becton thinks? He’ll be lucky to stay healthy enough to get another contract. The Jets should be doing everything they can to bring in quality OL.

Becton has had 1 good year, one decent year, and missed 2 seasons. Worrying about his feelings is the least of their concerns

This draft is loaded at o-line. The free agent market isn’t now that Tunsil re-signed. In fact, it isn’t great at all. Not even close.

Based off that, they will have to acquire depth in free agency, roll Tippmann, AVT, and probably Mitchell out there, then sign somebody like Jonas Williams or Andrus Peat for depth, see if they can get Becton back on a team-friendly deal, then draft 2-3 O-linemen. Fashanu from PSU may be around. Then they need to take a flier on a day 2-3 QB who is a large human and have him sit behind Rodgers and what I hope would be an actual high-end backup like Winston or Brisset.

Probably snag a wideout UFA, Curtis Samuel, Tyler Boyd, or Hollywood Brown on the high-end, Josh Reynolds or Berrios on the low-end.

I think based on how loaded this draft is with Tackles, next year’s starting LT will be drafted.

If they do this, there is no reason this team shouldn’t contend next year, Rodgers or not.

If Becton gets paid, there is a decent chance he goes Albert Haynesworth on us. There are a lot of options in free agency for 2024. Hopefully Joey D addresses the line through both the draft and FA next year. I don’t know why the Jets agreed to switch picks with GB. If Joey had given them something else the Jets could have taken Broderick Jones (though they swear they didn’t have him that high on their board)

I have no faith in Becton not getting fat again if he gets a new contract
