I’m just curious to see how many times it can fall before breaking, or how did you get your Steam Deck to fall

4 to 5 foot drop on wood took out my R2. I replaced it with an iFixit part and started using the travel case for the dbrand Killswitch around the house. I’m glad Valve took the time to think about repairability and setting up a supply chain for parts. I’ll gladly continue to spend money on their hardware and software products.

Couple of low to medium impact drops inside my house. Never sustained any visible damage. One of them was a big enough drop that I was worried but I picked it up and found it in perfect condition still.

This post was made because my Steam Deck has fallen twice in 2 months. First time, I was sleeping with the steam deck on the bed, unconsciously turned the other way and smacked my SD on the ground (50 cm circa). Second time was yesterday, I thought I closed the case… Fell down from 60 cm circa, no damage at all so far…

ive fallen asleep while my deck was laying on my legs. when i woke up it was upside down on the ground. When i picked it up there was no damage, even tough the display hit the table leg at the ground.

I was falling asleep while playing Skyrim and I wanted to place it back in its case, and just bumped the side of it into the wall, no damage, no scratches or anything.

Mine fell while headphone was connected to 3.5 mm jack, broke the holder in audio board, and rb was little stiff after the fall. Had to send for repair, as I did not find any parts online. Also, my lb was little unresponsive because of Sekiro. So they fixed both bumpers and audio board. I think in the new design, lb and rb buttons (internal) are part of joystick, which will be convenient to fix.
