It’s confusing to me why they run so few screen passes when their QB is constantly under pressure. And then the runs out of shotgun straight up the middle are never working.

Between Ron’s preseason comment on EB and how the season has played out, I guarantee Ron is missing Scott Turner.

Gotta be that guy, but he didn’t say EB right away. He went with the Steelers first, then mumbled a few, and then brought up Wash an EB.

Was gonna say the same thing. However, I, while listening, said “Washington” as soon as the question was asked lol

You kind of get the feeling that he plays Sam like he’s Patrick. PM is elusive vet and Sam holds the ball half the time with a oline that is a jail break half the time. The play calling is way more drop backs

Even if he doesn’t call more run plays (which he SHOULD do), he should at LEAST have a quick check down to a TE or RB available on almost every single pass play. Right now it just seems like there is never anyone for Howell to throw to until they all run around downfield for 4 seconds, and that is just asinine.

If we can’t stop the rush, throw little dump offs around it!! ITS NOT THAT COMPLICATED.

we need Alex Smith to come in and be a “check down design consultant”

To those defending EB, if you listen to Terry’s comments after the Giants game, he was basically (in his incredibly polite way) calling out EB for not doing any of the many things that all the players easily recognize would help them against what the defense was doing.

Sounds like EB is losing the locker room to me.

I think he’s gone, probably get interviewed by Harris & Co for his current position, but there’s nothing that shows he’s worth keeping.

Unfortunately, I think they’ll trade away some talent, get draft picks and build a team from square 1.

20+ sacks were due to Sam Howell, over half. Not the oline, not EB… Howell. EB is making mistakes but this burden falls on the guy holding the ball for 3+ seconds

It’s been a wild ride. In preseason and he first couple of games, he seemed more capable of adjustment and situational play-calling. There were still some head scratchers, but I attributed it to him just getting his legs under him.

Then DCs figured out how to play him (not complicated), he doubled down on his tendencies, and the bottom fell out.

What do you mean? He’s calling the game exactly the same way he would call it with Patrick Mahomes and THEY won a Super Bowl!

Edit: /s (just in case it’s not obvious)

    Such a shame

Ron thought he was bringing in EB to save his ass. Instead it will be the final nail in the coffin.
