Interesting read, the draft record is definitely notable.

I think the fundamental question is would Bill retire/quit/ insist on being fired rather than embrace a true GM at this point, even if it was someone who spent time under him like an Adam Peters. There’s no question he’s lost a step in the talent evaluation department but him admitting it is probably a pipe dream.

Only Barnwell could spend 5,000 words saying what I think is fairly common and accepted knowledge at this point.

    1. The Patriots have drafted poorly for years.
    2. The Patriots have made some poor FA acquisitions.
    3. Because of 1 and 2, the Patriots are largely devoid of talent.
    4. The Patriots have also suffered from brain drain in the FO and coaching staff.

It’s going to be an interesting off-season. I still think that if he wants, Bill is going to be back and he’s going to given another chance at a rebuild. I think he’s earned that.

People will hate it, but Mac is likely also back but in a seriously s competition to start.

Above all else, the Patriots needs to modernize. I like the idea of letting BoB continue to modernize the offense, but I think the FO needs a more analytical approach to player evaluation.

This is a great read. I like that Barnwell fully calls Belichick out for the “doghouse” issue.
