JT O’Sullivan took huge issue over Carr not even trying to make a tackle despite injury around 25 minutes into the video. He says O-linemen see that and get pissed off. How do you feel personally?
Carr isn’t as small or valuable. Tua couldn’t tackle a kicker, he needs to get out of there as soon as he passes the ball.
Carr isn’t the engine that wins this team games. 50% of the players on the team would rather see Winston or Hill at QB. And Carr is about as big as some of the people picking him off. He isn’t endearing himself to the team by not making the tackle.
Can think of at least a handful of current NFL QBs who got injured that way:
-
Herbert fractured finger 4 weeks ago
-
Mayfield torn labrum in 2021
-
Dalton fractured thumb in 2015
If you’re a fringe QB then yeah probably worth putting in the effort to help the team win but if you’re even an average league starter, potentially stopping a bigger return is not worth the really high injury risk and the lost value of you missing time with injury.

No lol let them pick six that shit Goff is about as athletic as a resident in a memory care home
Hell to the “NO”
I agree with Carr here. A single INT pick-6 is nothing compared to the number of INTs Winston would throw if Carr is removed for 2+ weeks.
You better be REALLY good to watch a guy run past you and expect your center, or your tight end, to chase them down instead.
No, I want them to not throw an interception.
One thing to note is that Carr has already suffered a shoulder injury this season; diving to attempt a tackle could mess with that. Also, the whole reason Drew Brees got hurt and didn’t re-sign with the Chargers is because he tried to dive for the ball on a play where he fumbled
I guess I’m in the minority? There’s a limit to “don’t do that, you might get hurt!!!” It’s football.
I’m not saying I want a 210 lb. QB trying to body up a linebacker with a full head of steam, but I also don’t want him to stand by and do nothing. Try to alter his path and slow him down at least. Tug on an arm if you can. Give your teammates a better chance to catch him.
