Far too many posts on here are people hating on others choice of car. Guess what, not everyone wants a racecar with a gazillion horsepower that is not even useful on most roads except the autobahn. Here are some of the regulars

  • People just buy so and so BMW for the badge. That’s okay. People buy Rolex, Patek, LV for the logo too. Sometimes people just want to feel like they’ve achieved something they aspired to. No need to shit on them

  • BMW X1 is just a mini…yeah And? Minis are great cars too and X1 is actually one of the best in its class especially with regards to space and that is reason enough to buy it, badge aside

  • I don’t get why people buy the X2/X4/X6( insert even numbered car here), they are slow, large, less space etc. Again different reasons for people to buy a car. Some of these are actually pretty cars. And some people like pretty looking things.

Also if whatever car is not your thing, just jog on. No need to comment. Literally scroll past!

Argh!

It is a well-known fact that european men have bigger dicks, hence nobody is driving any of the V8 5.8L trucks or whatever.

Same goes for BMWs, to each their own

My mom bought a X3 M40i and said it’s very favorite she’s ever owned. She loves the way it drives and the technology.

However, she likes the M badges on it because they’re pretty. She has no idea about the history of it. She told the salesman “my husband had a BMW in the 80s and he was always calling it the ultimate driving machine.” She thought my dad made that line up. Lol

So to your point, a lot of none car people buy BMWs

Just wait until the majority of BMW owners are driving (gasp!) an EV!

Upsides of a lower engine are cheaper car insurance, cheaper road tax, cheaper maintenance costs, more miles per gallon, cheaper tyres. Many people in the UK simply de-badge the car. lol

I bought a 128i just because it was fun to drive

I just totalled it though (someone hit me bad) so probably just going to upgrade to an EV for long term.

Was a fun 2 years though. Maybe ill buy a 135i in 5-10 years for nostalgia.

I was reading a guy reviewing his iX. He was praising the technology, the comfort and a bunch of other things I have absolutely zero interest in.

I only care about how a car drives, how fun it is, how well it corners, how communicative the steering is and things like that - things he didn’t even mentioned.

Different things for different folks, but it is clear now that enthusiasts are an endangered species. The ultimate driving machine is becoming the ultimate self-driving gadget.

    I get it…

Let me add to this - these people that trash the design - like that’s not what design is about. You think you know more than people at BMW - ha, yah, okay. Meanwhile, many of these reviewers I see trashing these new models are dressing like 15 year old boys. Do your thing but you are no authority on design - it is completely subjective business - turn your volume down!

Have a g05 X5 with executive package and upgraded leather. It’s literally more comfortable than being in my living room. Back and arm warmers, melt.

The problem with BMW is year after year they asked customers in focus groups what they wanted. The marketing team made the engineers give them the customers what they wanted. And that is bigger heavier more powerful cars. They slowly lost their ability to finese
