Looking for reassurance from anyone who has watched a lot of the trailblazers in the playoffs. I get that it’s regular season, but he’s a complete liability on defense. I’m not expecting him to be Jrue Holiday on D, but he doesn’t seem to care about stopping his assignment while driving let alone playing off ball D or rotating to an open defender. It’d be impossible for him not to play somewhat better in the playoffs, but how much better is it?

    Not really, he always seems to conserve energy by playing poor defense to use on the other end.

    Even in Game 5 vs Nuggets where he had one of the all time playoff performances he was letting Rivers get easy buckets in that game and the series when he was matched up against him from what I remember.

    He actually isn’t horrible on D. I feel like the first few games were rough but our defensive issues aren’t due to Lillard. Anyone who’s watched the games would tell you he’s been solid (nothing crazy) and not as bad as people make it out to be. He definitely needs to improve on the O but I’m sure it’ll come cause yknow it’s dame

      I’ve only watched 3 games to be honest, but he has looked very bad to me. Like I’m sure he could be serviceable with more effort but he looks like he’s just passing time until we get the ball back

    Don’t bet on it. It’s on Griffin to not put so many defensive liabilities on the court at once. I know we don’t have a lot of options but having Dame, Beasley and Pat on the court at the same time is just asking for trouble.

    He is not that bad on defense to warrant posts like this. The defense was bad even when he sat. This is not a dame issue

    Dame needs to stop shitting himself. This coming from someone who’s a hometown Blazer. I watched him from his rookie year. He just needs to stop shitting himself and shoot 46% fg and 37% 3 pt. I feel like I need to go to a game and get his attention and tell him to stop overthinking shit and just go hyper mode again.

    Blazer fan here.

    Dame is really unpredictable in the playoffs. Defensive intensity will improve. Not by much, but still an improvement.

    Offense will be changed greatly. The post season is where he gets very confident (get ready for those logo 3s!)

    He doesn’t have much playoff experience (in recent times) so set your standards a bit low
