Nope. LCD users are doomed to eternity if they don’t buy an OLED deck. LCD users are just stupid peasants who aren’t worth having fun.

The way some people are posting on here, I could’ve totally seen someone saying this seriously.

Well they’re not wrong. OG deck will not receive anymore updates, because Valve will focus on the better device. Hell I’m so glad getting my OLED soon.

My potato OG is useless now.

Moronic diehards: The OLED/LCD IS ALL I NEED. THE ETCHED GLASS IS TERRIBLE/JUST FINE.

Sane people: I love the steam deck, just bought metro Exodus and plan on playing the whole series on my deck!

No. As an LCD user I can confirm I do not have any fun.

Everyone with a LCD Steam Deck wants the OLED one, EVERYONE!

It’s just better in every way.

I kinda wish we could standardize Mini-LED displays. They give you OLED like quality with zero risk of burn in, and they tend to offer more peak brightness for HDR content.

But I can’t wait to switch to the new Steam Deck OLED, anytime I picked up my Switch OLED after playing on the current Steam Deck, I am always wishing I could transplant the screen.

LCD or oled, a steam deck is a steam deck. One of the best handheld systems out there.

The Steam Deck LCD is one of the best handhelds on the market with the worst screen on the market.

The Steam Deck OLED is one of the best handhelds on the market with the best screen on the market.

Valve fixed a big flaw in their original release and that’s a great thing. They are giving us what they should have given us back in January of 2022.

I’ve always felt like the LCD screen is perfectly fine for what it is, never once have I thought “man I would be enjoying my Deck a lot more if it had 100% sRBG coverage!”. The bigger battery is way more exciting to me, if I could put the bigger battery in my V1 Deck I would but from what I understand the bigger battery is only possible because the OLED screen doesn’t require a backlight.

My thing is, I will try to get a limited edition(I’m guessing the majority will try) if I’m unable to get it. Good for my wallet. If I do get it great. I’ll be happy either way. I will be gifting my old steam deck to my girlfriend
