What happened to handing him the ball (since he can’t catch) so he can get to the edge and take it to the house like last year. At least use his speed if nothing else. I’m not sure the hamstring injury hasn’t slowed him a bit this year.
This season he’s like #4
!RemindMe 2 Years
Right now he definitely isn’t, but I still believe that he can be. Maybe he just needs some more time to grow. Maybe the coaches need to ask less of him so that he can focus his development more. Maybe he won’t ever make it there. He has a truly incredible athletic profile and if I knew how to get him to his potential I’d be making a lot of money coaching football instead of scrolling reddit while I make a cup of coffee.
It’s just not coaching though either, some just have that mentality. Look at Adams or hell even the young guys like Jefferson/Chase…they walk with such a swagger that they know they are the best and you just see them exude this confidence that not only do they want the ball, but they make you believe any pass they will catch. They are wanting that pass when it’s needed, they are demanding the ball more and making plays when given opportunities.
With that said, like you mentioned, Watson is only in year 2, a good portion of his two years injured. Does he continue on this path or is he that “guy” who turns himself into the stud because he has that drive. He has the tools, sometimes it’s just the mindset.
No. Doesn’t appear to have the playmaking ability of a number 1. Good upside rotational guy if he can stay healthy. I think the best thing for him would be a trip down the depth chart. He’s had everything handed to him. The struggle will do him good. Iron sharpens Iron.
They called me a madman….
