There are so many seasons I can recall seeing the same thing over and over and over again.

The Vikings Defense playing a prevent style defense. The QB snaps the ball, Tight End runs a slant to the middle, grabs 8-12 yards. Rinse, repeat, over and over again.

I know the blitz heavy defense isn’t for everyone and it comes with it’s own challenges, but it’s so refreshing to no longer see teams eat away at the middle while we’re trying to prevent big pass plays.

All we were doing was delaying the inevitable.

It’s also a much more fun defense to watch and a far more aggressive type of play. I like seeing our defense engaged and pumped up and running a blitz heavy defense. It seems the players get more pumped up as well.

That’s all I had to say, I am happy.

I think I expected more huge blown coverages with the type of defense we’ve been playing, but the way the DBs are coordinating and understanding their assignments, and the way they close to the ball and tackle effectively is really exciting.

It goes to show how much of a difference competent coaching can make, since a lot of the players on the field that are really killing it this year (Bynum, Smith, Metellus, Evans, Hicks, etc.) were holdovers from the previous defense.

Really not looking forward to Flores going off to get a head coaching position somewhere.

I’m not sure if Flores is gonna get another head coaching job anytime soon. That lawsuit with the NFL and other owners I think put him in a bad light. I absolutely don’t think that’s warranted but whatever keeps him in Minny is fine by me

I said this in another thread but losing that playoff game last year sucked considering how the season went but it got us Flores and probably set NY back a few years because they paid Daniel Jones

Agreed, watching our defense give up constant pass completions that a high school quarterback could complete given the chicken-shit cushion coverage over the last few years was not only maddening, but also ate much of the clock only for the opponent to almost always score anyway. So thankful for an aggressive approach, even if it gets you burned every so often. It’s made a world of difference for this defense so far.

The amount of big plays and points we gave up last season was so exhausting. Anytime our D took the field last year I assumed we’d be giving up massive chunk plays and a TD. So frustrating
