Coach T had this to say: “Certainly. We’re gonna need more, particularly as this road narrows, but guys like Kenny and myself, we’re measured by wins and losses. He and I talk about that often and openly. We know what our jobs are. Our jobs are to win. And so that’s where we are, that’s where our focus is. I love the fact that he embraces that.”

Will this be the added juice necessary to help Kenny unleash his inner first round pick a little more? Or a nothing burger?

I criticize Kenny and I don’t think he is capable of being a consistent franchise QB that leads team on deep playoff runs and Super Bowls. I think he was drafted in the wrong round because of one good college year during a very watered down season (Covid) and the Steelers failure to adequately address Ben’s career ending.

    That is not hate.

My criticisms and what I think of him are based on facts and statistics. I also recognize he may prove me wrong. I’d be thrilled. He is the qb of my favorite team but I am allowed to reach my own conclusions about his performance. So are you.

Due to changes the NFL has made there really isn’t many ways to win big anymore. Look at the standings right now. Every division led by a team with a franchise qb or high powered offense. Except NFC South which is awful. Last year final 4: KC, Cincy, SF, Philly all high powered offense only one not a franchise qb but 9ers are easily the most talented roster in the league. Game has changed.

      All that is totally fair.

One caveat though… People were saying the same thing in '08 about the “game has changed,” but we rode our D and run game to a Lombardi. Not predicting a repeat, not with this roster to to bottom. Just saying that it’s not inconceivable to win unconventionally.

Yea but now with the pass interference and roughing the passer and other changes they have made it would be almost impossible to make a wildcard run through the playoffs against what would possibly be 3 franchise type QBs then beat another in the SB. The NFL wants a league dominated by big time QBs the problem is there are really only about 7-8 of them.

Hmm don’t disagree with you there. I guess that is one of my complaints about modern football is that the league really limited ways to succeed through the rule changes you mentioned. I still don’t think it is impossible if a team is very intentional and lucky, but its definitely a steep uphill battle.
