  • Why are they pretenders? I don’t like them but they have an improving defense with an excellent coordinator. Their losses are to the teams most people would consider the 2 best teams in the league and the Bills who at the time were playing great. What the Bills doing now doesn’t have anything to do with the Dolphins

They have what many feel is the best player in the league. Non QB

I would like to think they would suffer on the road in January in the cold playoffs but Hill won a SB in KC he knows how to run by dudes when it is cold.

  • Miami has an excellent defensive coordinator in his first year they are going to improve before it is done. Ramsey now back as well.

True they haven’t beaten anyone good but their loses were to the two teams in the SB last year and the Bills which was a divisional game and we know how those go.

Their remaining schedule: Raider, Jets, Commanders, Titans, Jets, Cowboys, Ravens, Bills.

Cowboys and Bills at home Ravens away

I don’t see many losses. But who knows?

The NFL is week to week. What’s happened concerning how teams play earlier this season is irrelevant.

  • Beating the Browns would be huge. If they consistently beat top tier teams and go deep in the playoffs then it would be sustainable and I wouldn’t “complain” I would be thrilled. I would rather be wrong and the Steelers win a SB

I don’t consider it nagging. Is it possible we are looking at today’s NFL (which is clearly slanted to teams with franchise QBs and powerful passing attacks) and the make up of the teams that are consistently winning in the playoffs and pointing out that the Steelers don’t seem to be interested in playing that way?

Judging by the Steelers recent playoff history we are right.

I was optimistic about the playoffs 2 weeks ago. But the play of other AFC teams is concerning. Texans and Jags (they don’t play SF every week) could continue to win and both have wins over the Steelers for the wildcard. Those losses could be huge. The Bengals and even the Bills have looked bad but would anyone be surprised if they ripped off a few wins? Colts, in the mix and capable of winning any Sunday with JT running the ball better every week. So let’s get into the playoffs first- these upcoming division games are crucial.

  • I criticize Kenny and I don’t think he is capable of being a consistent franchise QB that leads team on deep playoff runs and Super Bowls. I think he was drafted in the wrong round because of one good college year during a very watered down season (Covid) and the Steelers failure to adequately address Ben’s career ending.

    That is not hate.

My criticisms and what I think of him are based on facts and statistics. I also recognize he may prove me wrong. I’d be thrilled. He is the qb of my favorite team but I am allowed to reach my own conclusions about his performance. So are you.

Due to changes the NFL has made there really isn’t many ways to win big anymore. Look at the standings right now. Every division led by a team with a franchise qb or high powered offense. Except NFC South which is awful. Last year final 4: KC, Cincy, SF, Philly all high powered offense only one not a franchise qb but 9ers are easily the most talented roster in the league. Game has changed.

  • Most games are close 5 this weekend on last second FGs. I don’t think anyone is expecting blow outs. In fact I have never read anywhere on here people complaining because it wasn’t a blow out.

We beat the Raiders before they fired their coach they have improved since.

The Titans who are bad and had a rookie in his first start.

The Packers who are bad especially against the run.

The Ravens was a great win but you can’t count on them to drop passes (sustainable?)

Browns was a great win but it took a defensive TD late (sustainable?)

Rams aren’t good and the refs made a bad call in our favor late that may have hurt us. Who is to say the next one goes against us? The Jags FG penalty hurt us.

The losses have all been to teams that are looking like playoff teams. Yes Houston looks that way and they now have a win against us in their pocket. That may loom large later this season.

What does this look like against Mahomes in KC in January? Or trying to keep up with Tua and Hill on the road in the playoffs. Or even right here in our own division against Burrow who has more than proven he is a killer in January.
