I like the voice actors from the latest Monkey Island part very much.
CD Projekt Red games. Geralt is ok, but I always find the other characters tend to have their voice acting performed in a lot more grounded way than most other games (Baron, Von Everec, Jackie, Jackie’s mom, Misty, etc.)
Skyrim. The one voice actor that has for 2/3 of the hundreds of NPCs was great. They all felt so unique
Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 3, for the classy British voicework ^_^
XC2… is hit or miss, as the distribution is mostly Scottish and Welsh, and they leaned a bit too much on the regional accents ^^; You can get around it though.
But yeah, XC1 and 3 have some good voice acting from actors that weren’t doing video games in the first place. For instance, Melia’s actress is Jenna Coleman, best known for Clara Oswald on Doctor Who, while XC3 Mio’s actress is Aimee-Ffion Edwards, best known for Esme Shelby on Peaky Blinders.
Skyrim doesn’t have the best voice acting of all time, but compared to pretty much every other medieval fantasy game, it does a decent job.
Halo 2 ftw
Jenn Taylor as Cortana from Halo! Pretty much the whole main cast. Her, Chief, Johnson! Trifecta 🤌
Unironically my favorite voice acting is in the time management/dating sim/visual novel Hush Hush, some of the hammiest and over the top voice acting I’ve ever seen and it was insanely endearing and really sold me on the characters. Honorable mention goes out to Class of 09’ for being insanely well written.
Soul Reaver 1
Soul Reaver 2
Cyberpunk 2077
Ghostbusters.
Red Dead Redemption 2
Brutal legends. How can you beat jack black.
Actually. Baldurs gate 3. I have three songs from the game on my playlists. I can’t think of another game where characters sang songs I want outside the game.
Persona 5’s Japanese cast has some big name VA’s. To name a few:
- Morgana’s VA voices Pikachu
- Protagonist’s VA voices Lelouch from Code Geass
- Ryuji’s VA voices Light from Death Note
Their lineup is pretty stackedFallout
Re4 remake
Mass effect.
