Belichick’s game management decisions have been bad for a few years now.
5% of this sub will insist math is biased against Belichick because it’s jealous of his rings.
Gotta retain Onwenu and keep him at RT.
a rookie QB is not going to solve all the problems immediately.
I am going to be so sick of this strawman by draft day.
Why no Trent Brown? More Belichick disciplinarian nonsense?
But you see how that’s a problem? It eliminates so many throws from his arsenal.
When Mac has good mechanics is arm strength is fine
Okay, but part of the value of plus arm strength is not always needing good mechanics to generate velocity.
If they held out any hope for him at all, I don’t see how they rationalize the decision against Indy. If he’s so broken he needed to be pulled there, you can’t go right back to him.
I fear you’re right. I’m struggling to see the wisdom in starting Mac on a short leash after clipping his nuts in front of the team in a game-winning situation against Indy.
The team needs to move on from Belichick whether that means firing or trading him. Those who disagree are living in the past.
I like the athleticism and the youth. I do not like the extent to which Michigan keeps the training wheels on, and the abundance of NFL talent around him makes him a tougher evaluation.
As with all the non-elite QB prospects, I’m fine with a day two flier or trading back up into the late 1st if that’s a possibility.
I guess it’s a matter of semantics. I see those guys as solid or plus starters. I’m talking about the need for star talent.
Did they have literally anyone good on their team besides Calvin?
Do we? As far as true impact players, how many are there on the roster? How many have that potential? It’s Judon / Gonzalez / Barmore, and none of them are slam dunks.
They’re trading up for a QB here, not down.
The point is neither Belichick nor a good GM candidate would want to sign up for that kind of management structure.
Trade him or fire him. Folks trying to keep Belichick around are living in the past.
Bare minimum is a Pro Bowl caliber QB, WR, and LT. More likely they need at least two of them to be All-Pro caliber.
Maye and Williams have warts, but drafting top QBs is about swinging for the fences, and both guys have the kind of physical upside to justify the risk. You can’t bank on having an opportunity like this next year.
If you can’t get one of those guys, you can’t really go wrong with MHJ or one of the tackles. I know MHJ is “generational” and this team has been starved for impact WR talent for so long, but I’m leaning LT. It’s just easier to find a good WR in FA or later in the draft than it is with LT.
Konchar? We are never beating the allegations.
