  • I’ve been a fan since 1961. There’s plenty of blame to go around. Bad ownership, a series of questionable GM and coaching hires (with the exception being Parcells, and he was hired by Leon Hess, who made some bad decisions of his own), bad drafting and free agent signings*, some good college players who turned out to be mediocre to poor NFL players, etc etc. MetLife has a terrible reputation with players and with fans. The Jets are, and probably always will be, the second NFL team in NYC.

*Of course there are some exceptions. The 2000 draft (Pennington-Abraham-Ellis-Becht-Coles), the 2006 draft (DBrick, Mangold, Leon Washington ), and last year’s draft. And the free agent signings of Curtis Martin, Damien Woody,Kevin Mawae, and a few others

  • On December 24 (last home game of the season) have him start the game. Come in to a standing ovation and line up in shotgun. Hand off to Breece. Hand off to Breece. Bubble screen to Garrett. Punt if they don’t get a first down, or stay in and run similar plays until they score, punt, or turn it over. Come out of the game to a standing ovation.

After the game, Aaron: “bring me your doubts. I told you I’d be back.” Fans drool over 2024.

    A true Christmas miracle.

  • For a reality check — yesterday in the first half, while the game was still reasonably close, the Jets had 12 first down plays. They ran on four of them. Zach threw passes on seven of them, including the interception, and one was a designed pass play that tuned into a scramble for short gain. (Source: play by play from ESPN.com)

So they called a pass play on two-thirds of first down plays in the first half.

When fans get frustrated they see things that aren’t there. The Jets offense is horrible and predictable, but it’s not only because they run on first down sometimes.

The Jets aren’t at a stage yet where they are good enough to have a trap game! They have to bring their “A” game every week.

This is not an obvious win. The Jets are favored by less than a field goal. The Giants have played well the last two weeks, and I think Taylor is a better QB than Jones is.

  • I don’t think the crowd will be “leaning Giants.” It’s a Giants home game, and their fans would be very happy to stop this mini streak the Jets are on. They got off to a terrible start but they have played better the last two weeks. This game is huge for them, it’s the difference between 2-6 and 3-5.

I think you’ll see an overwhelming Giants crowd at the start. Hopefully the Jets will take a big lead, then the Giants fans will leave early, and waves of green will take over the stadium!
