  • If the Niners had Philly’s “luck”, they’d be undefeated with an average margin of victory of 30+ ppg.

Last years Philly team would also be unstoppable if they got as much ref help as they are getting this year. We know how good each team is. Niners should win by at least 10 points, maybe 14 to 17 if they play their A+ game. If Philly wins or its a really close game…either something went horribly wrong for San Francisco or the refs cheated like it was Mavs vs Heat in '06.

Boys have the same mental block that the Niners had against Jimmy’s Cowboys. Dak is Steve Young living in the shadow of past greatness. He needs to get the monkey off his back, beat SF and bring the Lombardi trophy back to Dallas.

  • Offensive holding is the worst.

It can be called on every snap…so the refs can use it to control the flow of a game. Sometimes they swallow their whistles.

Worst is when “Team A” is expected to win by a decent margin but it feels like the league wants a nail-biter. They’ll start calling holding on every big play Team A gets so that they stay in 3rd & long situations. Team B hangs in the game long enough to make it interesting. Refs will throw some random penalties at Team B later in the game to even up the flags.

Team B gets a bunch of ticky tack calls and thinks the league conspired against them late in the game. Team A feels like they got a bunch of momentum killing calls early…and would have blown out Team B otherwise.

  • The QBs today only know the current way of playing (since 2004)…so it’s like playing on “Hard” mode. Brady, Manning etc., played on “Ultra Hard” mode to start their careers. Rules changes made it feel like “normal” mode.

Defensive players in today’s game are better than when Manning/Brady played because they play effectively even WITH all the handcuffs on defenders. They never had the old rules so there was no adjustment. The rule changes were from 19 years ago. Most top shelf defenders were somewhere between Pee Wee and middle school football at that point. Some guys were too young even for Pee Wee 19 years ago. All they know is modern ball so this feels normal for them.

TL;DR - old QBs had an advantage with the rule switch 19 years ago but modern QBs don’t have the advantage since modern defensive players only know one way to play

  • Y’all think the Giants “pay” him to play.

No…the Mara’s know that you’re only as good as your last envelope. Johnny Dollars delivers the cash once a week, every week to Tommy D’s desired location. That money is coming whether he suits up or not. He just happens to like playing for the G-Men.

Notice how Micah Parsons didn’t have single tackle or sack against the Giants but had 3 yesterday. MP knows the rules.

    Tommy D - “a friend of ours”

    Bryce Young - Stacks Edwards

  • I get what OP is saying.

If there’s a deal to be had that can improve the team at an area that needs help, Boys should do it…if the price is right.

If the Cowboys are kicking the tires but can’t find a good deal…that’s fine. If they’re just sitting on their hands, that’s crappy. Pass defense is solid but I’d like a little help in the interior.

Can’t decide if the offense needs line help or running back help. They gotta get better at running but if Dak/CeeDee and crew keep balling, it may open things up. Wish they’d grab Henry. Someone to wear a defense down.

    Probably a few things:

Deebo is as important to SF as 'Reek is to Miami

Purdy is solid when he stays on schedule but he can’t will them to victory if things aren’t going his way.

Cleveland’s defense is NASTY. If they had Kirk Cousins (pre injury) at QB, they’d be undefeated.

Bengals are easy to beat early in the season. We beat them last year with Cooper Rush and they had a healthy Burrow AND Chase. Once Cincy gets over their early season bullcrap, they become MUCH more difficult to beat unless you’re the Chiefs.

Minnesota is a weird team…kinda like us where they can beat anyone but can drop the most random a** games. The Good Vikings showed up and the White Dak Prescott played outta his mind.
