  • I believe Hurts is overrated as a passer. When you consider he has a top 3 oineand probably the best or second best set of skill players, his passing numbers should be insane. He is excellent as a runner, though, and that offsets where he lacks as a passer to some degree. No matter what, though, 10 picks and 6 fumbles in 11 ganes is not good.

I watch a ton of all 22, and it’s easy to see where Hurts has regressed from last year. He sometimes barely gets to his back foot before he takes off and runs. He is not progressing through his reads near the level he did in 2022. At times, you can tell he has decided pre snap exactly where he is going with the ball regardless of coverage. The biggest regression is his performance against zone coverage this year is much worse than last year. He has improved against zone some as the year has gone on, but he is still not near where he was with it last year.

Outside of football, Hurts is a great person and solid ambassador for the league.

  • Hurts has thrown 18 td, 10 picks, and 6 fumbles. Even without digging any deeper, that is not an mvp candidate whatsoever. With the offensive line he has and the weapons, his stats are an absurdity. He should at least be in the top 3 across the board in stats like rating, etc, and he isn’t.

The MVP award doesn’t mean much, but that still doesn’t mean the 6th(at best) best qb should get it.

I care much more about team wins, but the sheer hypocrisy of sports media and the award givers is fucking annoying.

  • Ferguson has been an animal in run blocking. For whatever reason, the team keeps taking plays away from Fergy in the pass game and forcing them to Schoonmaker. Ferguson has responded by being one of the best blocking TE’s in the game and an even better route runner. He should be having a bigger impact in our passing game as he runs much better routes and has much better hands so far as well. He is open way more than Schoon and dies everything else better. I don’t get them taking playing time from him, I really don’t.

Damone Clark has been huge for us this year, too. He isn’t splashing like Bell, but that’s specifically because the way our defense is set up. Watch an all 22 and just see how well Clark is playing these days. His read and react is special.

I would also argue Juanyeh has a chance to be the next big thing from the class. He took over Jayron Kearse’s role yesterday and did very well. He keeps showing up every time he gets a chance.

I am not meaning to argue your point. I agree with you. I just think when all is said and done, these 3 could be right there, too.

  • I remember so many pundits and fans bitching about the pick. He is easily the best offensive lineman from his draft already. One thing the Cowboys never miss on is late first round offensive lineman(Frederick, Smith, Martin) or undrafted ones rofl(Steele, Collins,). Travis Frederick was hugely maligned as a massive reach as well late in first. He only ended up being the best center in football for several years. Martin nothing even needs to be said at this point.

The penalty thing was worrying to me, I’ll admit. It usually means the player is lacking in at minimum technique or at worst ability. In the end, it was just maturity and having the right coaches and teammates around the kid. It also helps his work ethic is second to none and he hangs on Martin and Tyron’s every word.

  • Here are some choices to answer your question:

    1. No

    2. Fuck no

    3. Sir, this is a Wendy’s

    4. Eagles aren’t getting Diggs. Go back to throwing batteries at Santa.

    5. No and you posting this on your main account proves monkeys at typewriters with shock rods up their asses can’t replace Shakespeare.

In all seriousness, if top 10 cb’s in the league are that easy to replace, how come the Cowboys took decades to replace Deion? It’s one thing if the doctor had red flags about Diggs. Diggs is also as good as a teammate as there is. He never causes issues, he us the furthest thing from a diva. You aren’t getting rid of just a cb for draft picks that may or may not hit. You are getting rid of a top cb with unreal ball skills that is the consummate teammate.

At best, you would get 2 number 1’s most likely spread over 2 years. What teams are a cb away, have the cap room, and would do a trade? Do any of those teams have a pick in the top 10? It’s not worth it to trade Diggs. I don’t see a scenario where a most likely late first riunder next year gets us further than Diggs does.
