I know I know, fuck you too. But I’m actually here for discussion. What do you guys think of hurts? Overrated, underrated, accurately rated? Do you guys think he’ll be a thorn in your side for the foreseeable future or is he a flash in the pan? Levelheaded takes only. I’ll start with a neutral take on Dak:

-I think dak gets a ton of unfair flak and is actually pretty damn solid -as much as we all love to harp on interceptions/turnovers, Dak more than anyone else is never given the benefit of context to tipped interceptions and what not, while other qbs get the benefit of the doubt -Dak is slippery as hell in the pocket, similar to but not as good as Mahomes in that facet. Everytime you think you got home on him he keeps the play alive -the only qualm I have with Dak is he seems to fold in big games. Until he turns the page in the playoffs, I think he’ll continue to get shit. But all it takes is one year to change a narrative.

P.S. I hope he never changes the narrative though 😏

Hurts has almost identical stats as Justin Fields, which isn’t great. Hes better at getting rushing tds, but throwing wise he’s still not great

Good QB and top 10 talent, but not “elite”. However it feels like he gets a lot of help from a loaded offense and great o-line. Given how talented the pieces are around him, it feels like he should be putting up league leading numbers across the board and he’s not.

Good guy, great personality to have on your team. I think he might be a smidge overrated, but pretty close to properly rated. He’s a very good QB, and I hate that the Eagles have him.

He doesn’t get as much credit as he deserves for the same reason Dak doesn’t get the credit he deserves… I’ll let you figure out what that reason is

He seems like a good player who is overrated. He isnt a real MVP candidate and if he wins it, it will be on the strength of his team. He is absolutely a franchise QB, and even though his Rushing TDs dont impress me, his rushing ability does since he doesnt rely on it (like Lamar). The fact that he is already this good tells me we probably have another ~5ish years of battles.

Also, Dak only folds against the 9ers. He plays awesome in pretty much every other “big game” - which you should know because he regularly beats your team. He was awesome in all his other playoff games (if you watch them and dont box score scout).

I believe Hurts is overrated as a passer. When you consider he has a top 3 oineand probably the best or second best set of skill players, his passing numbers should be insane. He is excellent as a runner, though, and that offsets where he lacks as a passer to some degree. No matter what, though, 10 picks and 6 fumbles in 11 ganes is not good.

I watch a ton of all 22, and it’s easy to see where Hurts has regressed from last year. He sometimes barely gets to his back foot before he takes off and runs. He is not progressing through his reads near the level he did in 2022. At times, you can tell he has decided pre snap exactly where he is going with the ball regardless of coverage. The biggest regression is his performance against zone coverage this year is much worse than last year. He has improved against zone some as the year has gone on, but he is still not near where he was with it last year.

Outside of football, Hurts is a great person and solid ambassador for the league.

Hurts is good, there’s no doubt about that. I do find it baffling though that he’s in the lead for league MVP though considering his stats this year are not that great. I’m definitely of the mindset that it’s hard to hate on players of a team you hate, unless their name is Kittle, I fucking hate that guy lol. Sirianni is someone I will never not fucking hate also lol, such a punchable face. Fuck you, and thanks for the post 🖕

He’s a good QB, not great. I think he has an incredible arm and is extremely accurate, but I think he has bad decision making and doesn’t make reads very quickly, or sometimes at all. I think most of his interceptions stem from forcing the ball to his number 1 option even when the pass just isn’t there. He’s very fast and shifty, but I think he would look pretty pedestrian with any other line. And I think y’all’s brotherly shove is 90% O line and 10% Hurts. Also, I hate it, but when people think it’s a cheat code for any team and should be banned, they’re morons. The brotherly shove works for you guys better than any other team, and there’s nothing wrong with it. Your O line is just too effing good, especially Kelce. Hopefully he finally actually decides to retire.

In conclusion, he’s good enough to be perfect for the system y’all have of all time great O line and 2 all pro level receivers and a great TE. There are a ton of QBs who wouldn’t succeed as well as him in y’all’s system, but he also wouldn’t excel well on most teams in the league either. He’s the perfect fit for you guys, and I hate that. But if he went anywhere else, I wouldn’t fear him. I would still fear your O line and AJ and Davante.

I think he’s good enough to win you guys games. He’s clearly unfazed by deficits since he always finds ways to win games (the entire team is but he’s at the center of it all).

Dak seems to fold in big games

Any rational Cowboys fan knows he is not among the best of the best. But you have to remember there’s also times where he plays his heart out yet the team lets him down. That was NOT the case in last year’s divisional game: that was on him. But the Arizona game? He literally tried to find some way to pull out a win after an atrocious defensive performance.

Hey thanks for the honest take on Dak! I agree almost entirely, except I think this is the first year he’s shown the hunger and actually has a solid chance of taking us all the way if he can stay this hungry thru post.

I love Jalen as a person and player. He deserves the nomination for MVP and deserves to win it if they make it to the Super Bowl (as does Dak). I just don’t think he’s quite ascended to the greatness everyone thinks he is. And no, I don’t just mean from refs helping - idk how to explain it, man. It’s kinda like Dak was for years. Something’s holding him back. It will be scary as hell when he hits his prime.

    P.S. - fuck you 🙃

Great qb but theres no doubt that there are some concerns yes he may have a shit load of touchdowns specifically rushing tds but many of them are just from the qb sneak(like 2 from the qb draw). His passing while at times great there are still some questionable throws he makes. Also helps that he may have the best o line in the league and two #1 wrs plus a great tight end. However one thing i cant deny he is clutch in all of their wins when they’ve been down hes kept his composure and played exceptionally well in the second half. Great qb overall, better than dak though? Debatable we shall see on the 10th

I actually like Hurts, he’s a good dude. I think the MVP discussion is overrated this year, but he does find ways to win games. He always seems focused, never flustered.

I think Jalen is a franchise QB. I don’t think he’s elite in the same sense that Mahomes is. But I do think his passing is slightly above average and his running/QB sneak is way about average. Those things combined make a very solid QB, would give him a 7.5/10.

Side note, he seems like a great dude and team mate. Can’t ask for much more out of your QB.
