Coach of the Year is a funny thing. Yeah, Demeco Ryans, Mike McDaniel, Mike Tomlin, Kevin O’Connell are all interesting nominees. Campbell has the advantage of being the face of a major culture shift and has had a couple years of build-up to this moment. He’s also well-liked around the league for his in-game coaching decisions and his personality. COTY is a regular season award, so playoff win wouldn’t be taken into consideration. I think if Lions win the division, Campbell will win it.
For 4th and 2, NFL teams conversion rate is 57.2% over the last decade. I didn’t agree with the decision when he did it. Generally, I think if you have the opportunity to take the lead late in the game, you should do it. But in retrospect, it’s obvious why he gave the opportunity to go out and win the game right then and there to the offense rather than the defense.
They must not have heard about the waxing gibbous moon.
