This is not true.

I played back in S2 when ELO was around. People were NOT happy when we changed the system

Seasonal rewards can still be given out, everyone above 1200 gets reward A, everyone above 1500 gets reward B, etc etc.

I don’t think anyone likes their ELO being reset at the end of the season. Spending a season grinding to gold, only to be dropped back into bronze after winning 8/10 of your placement matches is a shit way to incentivise more play. In my experience it discourages me from playing for a few months at the start of a season when my hard work is undone.

Besides if you really want to reset ranks at the end of a season you still can. “All players between 1500-1599 ELO will reset back to 1450”.

There is no benefit to the current system
