OK that one actually made me laugh out loud.
This is why I feel the draft and draft picks are overrated. Trading for an existing good player now and losing a future draft pick is nearly always a good outcome. Consider how easily coaches and GM’s are fired these days. It’s in their best interest to stack the roster now instead of rebuilding in the future.
So we’ve now entered the report dumb shit zone because things are so bad.
Patriots fans are the worst.
We love to complain about our O-line, but that was just a failed scheme. Defender was completely unblocked and Mac had little chance. Yet people will blame Mac for being sacked again.
This is a poor analysis. It’s not all Mac’s doing or fault, while he does share a portion of the blame.
O-line is weak and injured. Mac has 2.5 seconds to throw, at most.
Our WR’s can’t get free downfield.
Bob knows this and is purposefully calling plays that are designed to give Mac short throws.
When push comes to shove, Mac throws to a WR who then drops it.
Yeah, Mac sometimes makes bad decisions, but this stat isn’t telling the whole story.
I’m surprised that it’s an unpopular opinion around here, but I’m rooting for the Pats to win no matter our standing this season. I don’t see any real value trading our very few good players for draft capital. I think draft rebuilds are a myth. You have to get lucky in all of your early picks to make it worth it, and let’s face it once you get past the 2nd round (maybe even the 1st) draft picks are more or less interchangeable.
There may be a few exceptions to trading away a star player who is late in their career and about to hit free agency and will have a big sticker price for next season. Do we even have anyone like that?
I’d rather we continue the course and try to build something to last in terms of team culture and experience with the players we have than gamble on rookies who may (and probably will) not be any better.
Any cheering for a tank season is not a true fan.
Why so negative? Why qualify our success?
His biggest regret should be that he didn’t win us more games. If his biggest regret was that he didn’t get enough personal attention from fans…fuck him. I don’t see why you all are being so kind to this narcissist.
It’s amazing how generous Pats fans are toward Cam who was broken and couldn’t throw, but are ready to crucify Mac who has only 2 seconds to throw.
Fans who want your team to tank to get a better draft position are not true fans.
I’m not saying Mac didn’t deserve to be benched, but the play calling for Zappe has been runs and screens the whole way. Low risk and consistent. Why weren’t we calling these plays for Mac?
Anyways, we scored. Yay!
