My wife loves to explore. I am more of a builder, and redstone guy. I send her to find stuff for me. She has also recently gotten into mapping the world, so now we have a huge map wall.
We killed the ender dragon together in our previous world, and probably will again. She found the end gateway after I gave her a stack of eye of Enders.
Hamachi got real flakey a few years back. Got bought by someone who had no interest in maintaining it.
Try neorouter instead. They point you at paid products first, but the free product is there if you just look around a bit. Works on mac, windows, and Linux.
You are definitely not alone. At least every few days someone is asking for help to recover their lost Minecraft world. Unfortunately the answer is just about always, “it’s gone.”
I am waiting for them to notice my name. I have little doubt I will be forced to change it once they do. :( Kind of gate that, it is so hard to find a name that doesn’t have a string of numbers after it.

Levers are cheap. If you don’t care for the look, they can be placed under the block the powered rail is on for a cleaner look.
I had this in my last world. With a massive sorting system attached. Was totally amazing, as I set it up so I could stand on my AFK spot and watch the bartering happen automatically.

I play java, but I have the minihud mod on all the time. I have gotten lost so many times. My current base with the “Barbie Dream Prison” villager trading hall, and the biggest quartz antiantebellum mansion I have ever imagined. Is right near 250x250, so I can always find it.
When I moved from my local machine to a server, my inventory was gone. Tried this a couple of times. The easiest solution I found was to dump my inventory into a chest, then move the files to the server and get your stuff back from the chest.
Don’t forget your armour.
It should update over the internet as soon as to load up your disk version.
