This might be the worst Hawks defense I’ve ever watched and that’s saying something

I would like to see Capela big brother Wemby in a Hawks W please
I’ll be pleasantly surprised if we play .500 ball in his absence. Even if he was playing, this is a tough stretch. As long as we have a good January.
lol what? How is Capela suddenly the centerpiece of our team to the point that we have to commit to a rebuild without him? Capela barely fits our new defensive system. The writing is on the wall that he will be traded.
Onyeka is 22 years old and playing in a brand new defensive system this season. He can definitely have a strong end to the season. Jalen is the perfect rebounding power forward to play next to him. OO isn’t that far off from being able to start. He really needs to work on fouling but if he can stay on the court and you put a 6’10 to 7ft+ center who can rebound and block shots behind him we’ll be fine without Capela.
Dejounte is the 88th highest paid player in the league. He is a valuable member of the team but the idea that he is “paired” with Trae is incorrect. Once we have another max contract player on the team we can talk about who Trae is paired with.
This team will have a gaping hole until JJ develops into an All NBA forward or we bring one in from the outside.
Mostly working on my laptop tonight but I’m grateful for whatever mic is around Quin because I keep on hearing his coaching and ref talk lol
Bounce back game for DJM tonight
I just use the Bally app because I want to put in minimal effort to watch the hawks when I get off work at night
We dont have back to back home games again until January 10th and 12th lol. Have to travel on Christmas Day. The Celtics have a 2 game series in Atlanta against us next year where they are staying in Atlanta the whole time. They have two days off in between games while we play Portland at home so our 2nd game against the Celtics is a back to back.
The schedule makers hate us.
No issue at all
I’m sure we would have loved to have gotten one for JC if JC was on a better contract.
If you’re coming from the decatur area you can park your car at East lake Marta station. Decatur and Avondale Marta stations don’t have places for you to park. Kensington Marta station has parking as well.
This is where I have always seen the visiting team stay
We were missing a starter/our best defender this year and we were on the 2nd night of a back to back where we had to circle the Boston airport for 30 minutes and didn’t land until 2am.
If Trae were playing like he was 2 weeks ago it would have been much worse.
We’re 13th in net rating even though we clearly don’t have a full grasp of the offensive and defensive systems. There have been noticeable miscommunication issues.
Which isn’t surprising. Quin runs a notoriously hard offensive system to master. To back this up, Quin’s Utah teams always had slow starts even when they ended up a top seed.
2021/2022 - 4-4 start before finishing 49-33
2019/2020 - 12-10 start before finishing 44-28
2018/2019 - 9-12 start before finishing 50-32
2017/2018 - 19-28 start before finishing 48-34
We’re playing better defense overall I believe but our defensive system doesn’t match our personnel. I think we’re a move or two away from being really good but once we get Jalen back and are more comfortable in Quin’s system I expect us to go on a streak and be a handful of games over .500 by the trade deadline.
We also haven’t had easy matchups and the schedule doesnt easier until the end up December
Here’s my optimistic prediction:
Jalen has a sprained wrist and a bruised forearm. The bruised forearm is from his contact with the board and his sprained wrist was from when he braced his fall. The bruised forearm gave him more immediate pain, which is why shot 1 handed.
I’d argue that 85% of the most iconic on court basketball photographs ever captured were taken from under the basket. Photographers use one lens to capture dunks and other good shots from the basket they are under(like d wade with his arms wide after Lebrons transition dunk) and a different lens to capture shots on the other side of the court (MJ game winner over Utah) all from under the basket.
Injuries and people are different and there are multiple bones in the wrist but here are some recent time lines for return from wrist injuries in the NBA. It seems like all the wrist fractures required surgery.
Giannis missed 8 days with a sprained wrist
Lemelo returned from a wrist fracture a little under 4 weeks after surgery
Alex Caruso returned 7 weeks after fracturing his wrist
Naz Reid was anticipated to miss 6 weeks but the Wolves season ended first
Biggest defensive play of Trae’s career 💪 💪
