  • Not great. I don’t see Williams like others do. I think he’s a bit of a loose cannon and while he throws on the run well, he pocket presence isn’t awesome and he tries to play hero ball too much. Maye on the other hand is bigger better pocket presence, a just seems like he’s a better all around player in my opinion. Williams may be great but I just don’t think he’d be great with the Bears. He’s similar in ways to Fields and I’m not sure they’ve consistently put him in the healthiest positions to win. Especially Gettsy. I think Gettsy wants him to be a pocket guy and I think that’s more Maye

  • He’s trying to sign long term players, and wants to be capable of doing that if they’re available. Unfortunately, FA last year wasn’t great and mediocre players always want the bank. I respect his patience to not sign “meh” players to big deals, but as a fan it’s hard to sit and see all that space and not see a lot of splashes as a result. I just hope he’s not being too stingy or picky. If guys feel he is, it could hurt players from wanting to stay and come to Chicago. Based on his signings in fa last year, I think he’s on the right track, but we’ve waited a long time for a winning product, and waiting longer is not something anyone wants to do.

  • Agreed. He’s a starting and reliable cb at very least and I think much better than that. He’s young, and as long as he signs for less than very top dollar, sign him. We’d do much better signing a pass rusher or lineman though I can’t imagine there’s many really good young o line guys available. Get a de if Poles can get one without giving up any high picks, he’s young, and is as good or better than what is likely to hit fa.
