  • Having watched the Black Friday game last week, there’s no reason we can’t win this. Tim Boyle is one of the worst QBs I’ve ever seen and that Jets team is a mess. Their defense is no joke but they aren’t amazing at stopping the run and that’s what this team is built to do. 2 scores puts this out of reach, especially with how our defense is played. Jessie Bates and Jevon Holland may be the best safeties in the league this year and Holland took back a 99 yard pick 6 last week, lol. I think Bates is gonna dominate this game.

If we lose this though, to fucking Tim Boyle, it should absolutely be a “fire Arthur Smith” point.

I’m not scared of this game at all. Howell is all over the place, their coach is on the way out, almost every other position group on that team is terrible, and they just fired their DC. Any given Sunday of course, but I’m not worried for this one aside from injury.

  • Yeah, that was heartbreaking shit. It really shows how far we’ve come in football and just our general culture where all these men, these behemoths in a brutal, testosterone-filled sport can openly talk about their feelings with each other and encourage others to reach out to loved ones and be emotionally vulnerable. Yeah there will be jaded macho dicks who shit on that kind of thing but think of all the kids looking up to Jaelan Phillips who may see this kind of story and take that lesson forward. He seems like a good guy with a good mindset and I hope he recovers strong. Best pass rusher we’ve had since Wake.

  • Nah. Between the lawsuit and his tenure with the Dolphins looking worse and worse in retrospect after every game, I doubt he sniffs a head coach job for a few years. He’s a great defensive mind with a clear scheme and vision but he doesn’t have the temperament or personnel skills to be a head coach imo. Even outside of Tua, our gametime roster decisions under Flores were pretty consistently bad.

  • Your setup is fine, better than what 95% of people have.

As far as where to listen to music, literally any streaming service. (Free) YouTube has some pretty noticeable compression on everything but the differences between Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon, whatever other platform are so minute that you will never hear them unless you are meticulously A/B testing them together, and even then a lot of that could be placebo.

I personally went with Tidal back when I was chasing audio fidelity a year and a half or so ago and I ditched Spotify for it since they’re the same price (I’m on Tidal’s HiFi tier, not the Max one) and I wanted to reset my discovery algorithm. Spotify was recommending me the same albums for years on end even when my tastes were broadening out past just prog metal, so I wanted to reset. I also didn’t want podcasts clogging up my feed because I use a separate app for that. In general Tidal and Spotify are 90% similar to each other, with Spotify having more social features (which I don’t care about at all) and Tidal having more in terms of information about the artists, which is pretty cool. Tidal’s a little buggier but it rarely has an impact that lasts more than, say, 10 seconds. I don’t think you can truly go wrong with any of the big streaming platforms though, so do whatever your budget allows.

  • I definitely think the stigma has lightened up in the last 5 or so years with wages and rent being what they are, but I definitely would advise young people to try to have their own place if they can swing it, even if that means having roommates. It’s a big, necessary step in life and I think it’s good for young people to taste that freedom well before having to worry about marriage, kids, whatever else usually comes for people soon after. There’s no shame in not doing that if you can’t/don’t want to, but my relationship with my parents became infinitely better once I wasn’t living under their roof anymore and I don’t regret dealing with roommates in exchange for being able to call my own shots.

  • The biggest things I can name as our choke points are ball security and short yardage playcalling.

I really wish we had a short yardage power back that could plow forward for these 3rd and 1 calls. I thought Alec Ingold would be that but he’s more of a blocker and spot receiver in this offense. This team struggles with physicality on both sides of the ball.

Waddle HAS to get more meaningfully involved. Part of that is the constant forcing to Tyreek, who in fairness is absolutely dominating this season, but the other part of that is Waddle’s inability to make contested catches. Just like how Tua is due for one awful decision every game, Waddle is guaranteed to have 1-3 bad drops.

Assuming he’s in football shape and willing to play, signing Gronk would be a big boost for this team. He’s an amazing blocker and fills the role of big, physical red zone target that we need. Claypool is big but he’s not physical. Hill is physical but he’s not big.

There are definitely warts but I think the constant worrying here is dumb. This is still a top 5 team. Good teams don’t always steamroll “inferior” opponents; this is the NFL and every team has a chance to win every week.

I think we win but it’ll probably be a sloppy game. That defense is no joke and for all of his great season so far, Tua has been very mistake prone lately. The Jets will definitely do everything they can to capitalize on that.

Still, whether they start Tim Boyle or Zach Wilson, I’m not scared of that offense at all, especially with our defense heating up. We shut down Josh Jacobs yesterday so I have no doubt that we will shut down Breece Hall as well.
