  • It’s mindboggling how far AI has come in just the past year.

Scary shit. Imagine what we have in 10 years. I had so much more trust in anything just a few years ago. Now I can’t look at anything on the internet without thinking it’s fake.

People will be landing aliens all over the place like Jake Gyllenhall in that Spiderman movie. 15 years down the road people won’t even need GFs, they’ll just fuck their 10/10 robot copies of Natalie Portman or whatever current celeb sells their face for $$$.

  • Well, I do think there is some diminishing returns on knockout power. Once you’re a heavyweight people are going to get knocked out no matter what.

I don’t think Shaq could take a punch from Draymond any more than Draymond could take a punch from Shaq. If either connects they’re getting KOd. Draymond does look like he can handle himself in a fight in contrast to 99% of NBA players who look like they’re on ice-skates everytime they start throwing punches.

With that said, I’m not saying I’d favour Draymond, especially if Shaq is allowed to wrestle him to the ground and smash.

  • Draymond Green has shown he has a mean sucker punch. Considering 99% of the fights we’ve seen of NBA players throwing punches look terrible, including Shaq, I think Draymond actually has some experience hitting a bag.

His punch on Poole was vicious, fast and came out of nowhere.

    Draymond Green

    6-6, 230lb (198cm, 104kg)

    Shaq

    7-1, 325lb (216cm, 147kg)

Shaq does have a big reach and weight advantage. Draymond has him beaten on speed.

If it was MMA or no rules, Shaq could just flatten him, GnP. If it was boxing rules I could see Draymond putting up a fight and steal a KO ala Mike Tyson.

  • How is this a controversial statement?

The NBA has greatly limited defense with rule changes and how the refs officiate the game in the past 30 years.

This has increased scoring, but it has also made foul baiting more prevalent. The game has evolved as well, sure. Players are smarter than they were and game the system. But it’s ridiculous to say the league isn’t the biggest reason why we have foul baiting and flopping. They are the ones with the power to change the rules and hand out fines.

  • This was one of Magic’s tweets on opening night that people clowned him for;

The Nuggets entire starting five scored in double figures in their 119-107 win vs. my Lakers. They were led by their MVP center Nikola Jokic, who finished with a 29 point, 13 rebound and 11 assist triple-double. He had help from Jamal Murray, who added 21 points.

To us this is the most obvious shit ever. His tweets aren’t meant for us though. He is one of the biggest ambassadors for basketball around the world. Here in Sweden I would say he is easily top 5 known players. It’s not a stretch to think there are many who follow him that aren’t very knowledgeable about basketball.

If you listen to him speak he doesn’t come across as a dumbass at all. He is intelligent and well spoken. I mean… he was a GM. Pretty terrible sure, but a GM nonetheless.

He’s just keeping it simple for everyone who doesn’t breathe baskeball like we do.

  • I’ll take the bait.

Triple doubles used to be a lot rarer.

LeBron had a lot of his career play out when the triple double were less prevalent. It would be different if he came into the league today.

With that said, obviously Jokic is a great passer, one of the best. I still don’t know who I would take, him or Heatles LeBron(if only talking playmaking). LeBron’s laser passes to the corner after a drive was unstoppable. Will need another few years to look back to make a decision.

  • Really? You weren’t around for LeBron and The Decision? 100 times worse than what people shitting on Embiid right now. Russell Westbrook got the exact same treatment as Embiid after he won his MVP on “empty stats”. Harden=literally Hitler etc etc.

It’s just flavour of the month. It is funny that Embiid campaigned for the MVP(not as much as people say he did, but he still did campaign for it a little), and then he got owned in the playoffs.

If this happened to Tatum you would be laughing your ass off right now. You’re just sad about it because it’s your team.

I’m not a Sixers fan. I’ll give you this, I agree Embiid is way better than what /r/nba gives him credit for obviously. He 100% deserved his MVP, although it could have gone to either him, Jokic or Giannis. Jokic sat the last 6 out of 8 games which sealed the deal. People just seem to forget that.

But man… it’s just fucking funny that he shat the bed in the playoffs. Don’t take it so seriously. People will forget and move on to the next guy to clown on.
