  • Talks about the shift in Porsche making the 911 much more unobtainable (special editions, GT cars, etc.) and prioritizing exclusivity over getting cars in the hands of drivers. A shame really if you ask me, but profits drive business and low volume sports cars aren’t easy to make money on. Thankfully there is the Porsche used market that’s much more accessible as long as you aren’t after some unicorn like the 918.

Maybe you just didn’t know OP but its been like that for awhile. Maybe im not old enough but getting a GT3 or a limited edition Porsche was always near impossible. It was like buying a Rolex where you had to have business with the dealership to be even considered to get an allocation

  • Thats pretty cringe tbh. I honestly can’t stand people like that. Its common among alot of influencers across all hobbies and activities. So many dudes are insecure and overcompensate. Never saw him as someone who was experienced at the track, just a guy who likes those really weird cars.

I feel like within the car community people resort to track driving as the ultimate way to experience a car and that your opinion is invalidated unless you have track driving experience. The fact that he bragged about tracking his Ford GT and his Carrera is hilarious becuase nobody in their right mind would track those cars and really push them hard.

  • Lol nobody tracks those cars. They aren’t good cars to track because they are so old and valuable, that it simply doesn’t make sense even if you have stupid money. He probably just pushed it hard one lap and called it a day lol. The people that track those cars do them in sanctioned events like how people will race the old classic Ferraris. You’ll never see a Ford GT on an open track day lol.

  • Also the super hard Nordschleife inspired suspension basically always make the cars slower on the nordschleife. Its one of the reason why the Skoda Octavia vRS for example is faster round the nordschleife than the same engined VW Golf GTI because the golfs suspension is way to hard and nervous for the ring.

I dont get this. Isnt the Nordschleife and Nürburgring the same thing?

  • The turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine in question is fitted in the Hyundai Sonata N Line where it produces 286 hp (213 kW / 289 PS) and 422 Nm (311 lb-ft) of torque.

It also makes 300hp in the G70. I wonder what is so different about this 2.5L maybe it will have more overhead and be able to take power easily, because those numbers seem pretty low or at least “average” for a regular 2.0L I4, I feel like a 2.5L should at least be getting into the 310-330s range of HP. Either way this is great news

  • So far I’m loving the car entirely because of the engine, it dominates the experience and I don’t think I’ve smiled this much in any car I’ve ever owned. Hopefully it doesn’t get old. If I start to miss the manual once the novelty has worn off I might just get an Elantra N or something to occupy my left foot.

I highly recommend getting one. Getting high performance economy cars like the Elantra N, GRC, and the CTR are so amazing and pair extremely well with having a crazy car. You get like 50% of the experience while still having good road manners.

Im glad you were able to get a Z06 and are enjoying it.

With the fuel economy, even though its bad what’s the range when its full? My GT350 gets around 11 MPGs and only 170 miles on a full tank of gas. Its really annoying that OEMs don’t increase the gas tank with these cars. Porsche is the only one I know that allows you to option in a bigger fuel tank.

But yeah the FPC V8 is amazing, it seems like GM really took the time to develop it properly and didn’t just bore out the LT1/LT2 engine, throw in a flat plane crankshaft and call it a day. I wonder if the firing order is the same as every other FPC V8. So many dudes I know have had their engines die from track use that it made me not want keep the car anymore since I want to start going to the track regularly. A C8 Z06 would be a blast to drive, but its a bit out of my budget, I am considering getting a Cayman GT4 at some point.
